Perched on a 100' cliff facing south from the north point of Ocean Cove on the Sonoma Coast, Separate Star Point is an untamed, rustic yet majestic environment - perfect for connecting with the elements. Take advantage of the infinite possibilities for adventurous rock climbers and fishermen or find your cliffside perch and let your spirit soar with the osprey across expansive pacific views and rugged rock formations.

Separate Star Point is located less than 1 mi from Salt Point State Park's southern entrance, a pardise for mushroom hunters and those who wish to wander in the wilderness or explore the coastline. 5 mi to the historic Fort Ross State Park (early Russian settlement).

Walk to the Salt Point Bar & Grill where you can enjoy a friendly local atmosphere with great prices or drive 5 mi and treat yourself to fine dining and local wines at the Timbercove Inn.

2 hrs north of SF. 2 campsites w/ fire pits.

Potable water

I offer information about local activities and guide fishing/diving, surfing, and mushroom hunting expeditions. However, interaction with guests will be based upon request during booking as I may or may not be onsite.

While Ocean Cove is best known for abalone diving and fishing, it is also surrounded by Salt Point Park to the north and Still Water Cove Park to the south. These two parks span several miles of the rugged Sonoma Coast's beaches, cliffs, grass lands and Redwood forests. Known for their geologic anomalies, mycelia, rhododendrons, and pigmy forests, they are also seldom crowded and mostly wild.
