Overall this was a great stay for the value and conveniently located close to breweries, hikes, and other VT must-sees! The cabin: clean and cozy. It was a little cramped for 6 people + a medium sized dog, but we made it work. There was plenty of kitchen/cook ware for eat-in meals and clean towels. The land: I want to point out a few caveats with regard to the land. First, there isn't much of a yard space, which might not be ideal for those traveling with a pup. The yard was not mowed and the fire pit was overgrown with brush. However, it was not an issue finding green space/hikes within a 10min drive for our dog. Also, the road the cabin is located on has quite a bit of fast moving traffic. That also wasn't ideal for our pup to roam around the lawn. The pond: it is stated clearly in the listing, but worth reiterating that the access is "at your own risk" as the dock is uneven. The pond itself is not for swimming (it's allowed, but very shallow and murky). Craftsbury: The area is very quaint and in proximity to many VT gems! There were plenty of markets, grocery stores, farm stands, etc. Penelope was always communicative and easy to reach with questions.

We did discuss the road and the location with Kara regarding her pup -- we are very careful to explain to anyone that we are on a road and it is not a big property! We discuss animals personally with anyone asking to bring one. We also discuss at length -- as we did with both Kara and her husband -- that the access to the LAKE is across a road, and that the easily accessible public beach is better for swimming than is the dock. This is a 190-acre lake with depths of up to 100', so not really a pond. The access across our road is better for fishing or kayak access than for swimming. We appreciate Kara stating it's a great value - we do price it as a lake view cabin on a road, rather than as a cabin with waterfront and beach (gosh that would be a lot more!).

A little jewel in the middle of Burlington! Gorgeous surroundings. Lake across the road, beach nearby. Please do note (and it is clearly stated on the description) that you must cross the road to get to the lake, and it is quite a busy road. Penelope is very helpful and responds very quickly. I would definitely recommend.

This cabin was close by to Hill Farmstead Brewery (about 4 miles) which is why we chose to stay here. It was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen. My husband and I are tall and found the loft sleeping area to be very tight. Neither of us could stand all the way up without hitting the ceiling. While we were there, it was very hot in Vermont and the lack of AC was uncomfortable for us. This was nothing against the cabin, apparently it was just an unusually extremely hot time in the area. Penelope left us great tips around the area. The canoe is available to use, but there is a charge, so make sure to contact Penelope about this prior as there are some restrictions. We didn't rent the canoe because of the steps to get down to the Lake and not really being able to carry it across the road. The general store in Craftsbury was a charm!

We do try hard to represent the cabin and amenities accurately, and include clear photos. We will add another of the loft space. Tara is right - as stated in the listing, we do insist on talking personally with anyone who wants to borrow the canoe, because safety is utmost and the road complicates things! We want guests to properly assess the access before attempting.

We had a great experience at Little Belle Eligo cabin! Penelope provided a thorough information sheet well in advance of our trip and was quick to respond to questions via email. The cabin was as great as advertised -- very clean, well supplied, nicely decorated & furnished, and very comfortable. We all slept well -- the kids loved the sleeping nooks, and the loft bed was comfortable as well. The bathroom was roomy with a gigantic tub. The kitchen offered a lot of counter & dining space; it was clean and well stocked with supplies. The view of the lake was lovely and it was a quick drive to the beach access. Penelope's list of area restaurants & attractions was invaluable. We had a great trip and would definitely stay here again.

Penelope's home was wonderful! My girlfriend and I spend our Memorial Day Weekend there and were very happy with our stay. She provided all of the information we could ever need and more, from maintaining the home, to activities in the area, along with directions and suggestions. We used the canoe that was conveniently stored under the home and took it down to the lake right across the street. The bed cubbies were very unique and made for a great space to unwind and I can't say enough of how amazing the extra large bathtub was! House provided plates, utensils, and cooking supplies, which made making meals very easy. All around a great experience and when needing to clarify any information, Penelope was only a quick phone call away!

My friend and I absolutely loved our stay at Little Belle! The cabin is very cute and cozy. The heat was still able to keep us nice and warm even when temps dropped to -20!! Also LB is in a great, scenic location to explore so many parts of VT. Penelope was a very accommodating and responsive host. The hot water pipes did freeze our second night there and she had the caretaker over to help unfreeze them immediately. She also provided great instructions on how to get to the LB (as our GPS was slightly off) and recommendations for fun things to do! I'd love to come back in the summer and take advantage of outdoor activities and the lake :)
