Dorthea communicated with us throughout the planning and arrival process. She met us at the apartment the first day and communicated with us when we had questions throughout our nine night stay.
Her apartment is a beautiful one bedroom with a wonderful kitchenette that overlooks the streets and canals of Christianshavn. The location cannot be better if you wish to see Copenhagen. It is located next to the Danish Architecture Center (worth a visit!) and in an awesome neighborhood right down the block from the Church of Our Saviour and some excellent restaurants and bars. The neighborhood is not too loud for the amount of activity, it is nothing like the crowded streets of Copenhagen proper across the harbor.
The Kayak Bar and Copenhagen Street Food are just a ten minute walk away, as is Nyhavn, the city center, and most everything else. The metro stop down the block leads to anywhere that isn't walk-able. We visited Amager Strand, Malmo (Sweden), Helsinor, as well as most of Copenhagen.
There are City-bikes located at two locations near Dorthea's place so riding around is super easy. We left from Christianshavn on bike and visited Norrebro, The Little Mermaid, Amagerfaelled. We left on foot and visited Freetown Christiania, the canals of Christianshavn, Nyhavn, and the Harbor Promenade.
This is such a wonderful little apartment. Perfect for a couple or a professional visiting Copenhagen. There is even a Nespresso machine and a coffee press for your choice of morning coffee. We made breakfast a few mornings because most places don't open until 9:30. If you read Danish, Dorthea has quite a library for the rainy days! Although we just went out in the rain. We were visiting from Phoenix, AZ in the United States though so rain is a luxury for us!
Don't forget to climb the spire of the Church of Our Saviour, go can get pretty busy! Alternatively, you can watch the people climbing the spire from the kitchen; but it really is a beautiful view from the top!
I would stay here again without hesitation!
