Dorthea's apartment is just beautiful, perfectly equipped with everything you might need, and with a very good wifi connection.

Dorthea communicated with us throughout the planning and arrival process. She met us at the apartment the first day and communicated with us when we had questions throughout our nine night stay. Her apartment is a beautiful one bedroom with a wonderful kitchenette that overlooks the streets and canals of Christianshavn. The location cannot be better if you wish to see Copenhagen. It is located next to the Danish Architecture Center (worth a visit!) and in an awesome neighborhood right down the block from the Church of Our Saviour and some excellent restaurants and bars. The neighborhood is not too loud for the amount of activity, it is nothing like the crowded streets of Copenhagen proper across the harbor. The Kayak Bar and Copenhagen Street Food are just a ten minute walk away, as is Nyhavn, the city center, and most everything else. The metro stop down the block leads to anywhere that isn't walk-able. We visited Amager Strand, Malmo (Sweden), Helsinor, as well as most of Copenhagen. There are City-bikes located at two locations near Dorthea's place so riding around is super easy. We left from Christianshavn on bike and visited Norrebro, The Little Mermaid, Amagerfaelled. We left on foot and visited Freetown Christiania, the canals of Christianshavn, Nyhavn, and the Harbor Promenade. This is such a wonderful little apartment. Perfect for a couple or a professional visiting Copenhagen. There is even a Nespresso machine and a coffee press for your choice of morning coffee. We made breakfast a few mornings because most places don't open until 9:30. If you read Danish, Dorthea has quite a library for the rainy days! Although we just went out in the rain. We were visiting from Phoenix, AZ in the United States though so rain is a luxury for us! Don't forget to climb the spire of the Church of Our Saviour, go can get pretty busy! Alternatively, you can watch the people climbing the spire from the kitchen; but it really is a beautiful view from the top! I would stay here again without hesitation!

We had some problems getting to Copenhagen in the first place due to the chaotic circumstances of Berlins airports, so we arrived 6 hours after the expected time. Dorthea did not mind that, made sure we could get into the appartment so everything went smoothly. The appartment was very clean and as we expected it. The neighborhood in Christianshavn is very nice and central. I enjoyed running along the canals, we also made several walks across the bridge to Nyhavn and the beautiful locations there. Internet WLAN was flawless, there was even an Apple TV which we used to watch German shows from our iPhone via Airplay, very handy. The kitchen has a very nice view down to the street and is bathed in sunlight in the morning, so we enjoyed our breakfast there, too. We could sleep very well and were not disturbed at all from the rare nightlife noises.

Dorthea's flat is wonderful. It is light, airy, comfortable and very clean. The floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen are particularly lovely. The flat is well-equipped and the WiFi works perfectly (key for a business traveler like me). The bathroom is large and very nice. The bed is comfortable and Dorthea cleared an entire portion of the wardrobe for me to use. The building is similarly well maintained and there is a lift for anyone who has problems climbing stairs. The flat is 5 minutes from the Christianshavn Metro station and several food shops and bakeries. There a variety of restaurants and coffee shops in the area, and several of my favorites -- Cafe Wilder, Sweet Treat and Sankt Annae 8 -- are just a block away. Dorthea's flat is perfect either for the single traveller or for a couple. The rest of Copenhagen is close by, whether you are on foot or using public transport. A stroll around the neighborhood takes you to several canals and many nice views. Dorthea met me on arrival and answered my questions, although since I am quite familiar with the area, I didn't have too many and everything in her flat was pretty straightforward. If I could change one thing, it would be the absence of lights over the kitchen table. I imagine during the summer that is not a problem but on autumn evenings, it can be a bit difficult to see what one is eating. I have stayed at several other places in Christianshavn over the past year and a half and this is by far my favorite.

We really liked staying at Dorthea's place. The pictures don't do it full justice. Some days we almost felt like staying in, instead of exploring the city like we planned :) It's close to metro, which made it super easy to get to the airport. Also close to 3 good bakeries (Emmery's, Lagkaghuset & Holm's), several high quality eateries, and the covered Copenhagen Street Food Market on the Paper Island, from where you can catch spectacular views of the Opera House and the Royal Danish Playhouse across the water. The apartment itself is kept immaculately in the efficient danish fashion, and became our own little haven for the time we stayed there! The view of the gorgeous spire of the Church of Our Saviour from the dining room is lovely, and it's fun to watch the ant-like people making their way to the top. We highly recommend Dorthea's place!

The location was great for me. The apartment was really nice and clean, and it was nice to have a clothes washer.
