You can always ring or app me during your stay! If you message through Airbnb my cohost will be able to see it as well in case of emergency. I work at the beach and normally it's crazy busy, so I might not be able to react straight away. I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions and or give you recommendations!
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning the newspaper (Volkskrant) gets delivered through the front door. Please feel free to -try and ;) - read it!
There's a church (de vredeskerk) opposite my apartment.
The outdoor famous Albert cuyp market(7 min walk) is open every day apart from sundays. You can buy fruits, vegetables, cheese, waffles, flowers, clothes, souvenirs and loads of other goodies! The 'van der Helst' straat that crosses the market halfway-through with loads of bars and restaurants attracts a great mix of local and some tourist visitors. The Sarphati park is a minute walk from the market.
There's an Aldi(budget) supermarket directly across from the apartment, and an Albert Heijn(upmarket supermarket just a 3 min walk (Cornelis Troost plein)
An organic supermarket (Estefette) is a mere 5 min walk, located on the Ceintuurbaan. Also located on the ceintuurbaan across the tramstop: a nightmarket, that sells loads of groceries needed in the middle of the night.
Sarphatipark (smallest)and Beatrixpark bigger) are the 2 parks that are the closest, resp. 5 min and 7 min walk. The Vondelpark is a little bit further, behind the museum plein: a 15-20 min walk. Amstelpark is located a little bit further south of the Rai congress centre. The Beatrixparc is directly next to the Rai.
Rijks museum, Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh museum, 9 straatjes(art district), Leidseplein, Rembrandtsplein are all within walking distance(25 minute radius)
The Rai convention / congress center is super closeby, (keep the Okura hotel on your left hand side, follow the Ferdinand Bolstraat that -after the bridge that crosses the canal changes names - turns into the Scheldestraat ) it's a mere 10 min straight walk!
Please be respectful of my house and its neighbors. No loud music and talking after 10 pm please! Please make sure to lock all windows and doors when you exit the apartment.
No smoking inside the apartment, also I only offer my space to 2 persons maximum at any time, thanks!
I'm a 33 year old woman who aims to travel the world :p Currently i'm working at my sisters beachpavillion, so i'm much less in amsterdam than i would like to be! Travelling, sports, dancing, reading books in a hammock in my garden & having drinks with friends in de Pijp (the fab neighborhood i live in) are among the things I love to do most :)
Apart from trying to save up enough money to go on my next trip I love it when people enjoy staying in my house whilst discovering our beautiful city amsterdam.
