An oasis at the end of a bumpy lane !! About 5 mins drive from Cowes; Newport and Yarmouth. Youngwoods Farm is original in the Doomsday book now a farmhouse and offers a walkers paradise beside Newtown Creek nature reserve, the downs etc .

Le logement

Spacious airy double bedroom with a small en-suite shower room with spectacular views over the downs, twin/double bed available to your choice.

The house is an old farmhouse which has been modified and extended over the last years, there has been a dwelling here since 1297, but the main house has been here since 1825/26. the decor is traditional or as some might suggest, dated !! Outside are plentiful gardens, including an a orchard and in season a fantastic natural display of Green winged orchids. We have space to garage motor bikes and panniers etc as well as bikes, and are literally on a walking route.

Accès des voyageurs

We operate as farm house b&b and provide a traditional breakfast in the old dairy which is now the dining room, guests are free to come and go as they like and to enjoy the lovely gardens and surroundings.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We live on site and are here to offer helpful tips about the Island and its history, geography and interesting things to do locally, but will leave you in peace if that's what you want.

Autres remarques

We are at the end of a somewhat bumpy lane, but complete peace and privacy prevail.

Judith and Peter were incredibly warm and hospitable. Their house is in a lovely area of Isle of Waight with a beautiful garden to relax in. We wish we could of stayed longer to read in the gardens and relax a bit more.

A lovely place surrounded with beautiful nature and fresh air. The building is old and historic, but well maintained and lovely to be in. It truly felt like I was at home. The hosts are lovely and gave great recommendations on things to do, I highly recommend this and will definitely go back there!

I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The house is very old and full of character. Land records date back to 1294! The room was bright and spacious and the bed comfortable. The en-suite bathroom is very small, but the owners have made the best use of the space available also taking the age of the property into account. Good WiFi connection, large bath towel and dressing gown provided. Take your own hairdryer. It is worth noting that there are 2 other rooms also available which can be booked separately, but they are not en-suite. Breakfast was relaxed, but sumptuous and really set me up for the day. Judith's jams and poached eggs should be legendary! Judith & Peter are very interesting hosts & I enjoyed my stay immensely.

Lovely and peaceful with excellent secure parking - bumpy driveway really wasn't that bad! Breakfast was excellent, our room was clean, warm and wifi reception good. The house is a home and a dated one so be prepared....

Peter and Judith were extremely welcoming and great hosts. Their cottage is very typical and allows for a unique deep dive into England's traditions and culture. Having travelled extensively across Europe, they are very open to different cultures and have no shortage of stories to share! The room itself is rustic but also cosy and convenient; and the cottage's central location on the island makes it an ideal base to drive between Ryde, Newport, Brooke or the Needles.

Lovely old farmhouse, tucked out of the way with walks on the doorstep. Hosts were very welcoming and breakfast the next morning excellent. Room perhaps a little dated, but perfectly adequate for a short stay.

I moved here with my husband Anthony in 2008 after we had spent quite a lot of time travelling for his career in sailing Stars, and now live here with our children, dogs and horses working from home and have been restoring the mill and outbuildings , - I live in the main house and offer any guest as much privacy as they would like - but also like to welcome guests as family.

We both have a great interest in cooking & food, have a thriving vegetable garden and aim to provide most of our vegetables from it; we love sports in general, rugby sailing polo and hunting in particular, and would be described as people people !!
