I absolutely love hosting. Airbnb is a new source, but I have hosted DC guests for business or pleasure through other programs - Au-Pairs, language schools, interns, and foreigners 14-70 years old from many countries. I went though an extensive background check twice, by different language schools, in 2014 and 2015. My house is safe, clean, hospitable, and regularly inspected. Last time it passed the inspection in Feb-2017. The sheets and towels are pure cotton of high quality. Scrumptious hot breakfast is included - you will not be hungry well into afternoon. If daily homemade dinner (salad, soup, main dish, dessert, fruit, nuts) is desired - please tell in advance, $15pp. Good lunch is $10pp.
You do have kitchen privileges! Buy food and cook if you want to. Or bring your leftovers. We want you to be happy here!
I sometimes provide room and board for international students from language schools, and can deal with allergies and regional preferences in food.
I traveled in Europe and South America. Like musicals and operas, and have a subscription for ballet performances. Appreciate a good movie, especially a foreign one. Enjoy Indian food.
Come and stay with me! DC is just a short metro ride away, and you can almost see the metro from my house, that's how close it is.
