Le logement

The compound has private access to the white sandy beach and it's only 500m from Hua Hin city center and right on the beach so stroll, jump or skip on to the beach and in to town! Arguably the best location in town for beach side living situated between Marriott and Cape Nidhra Boutique Hotel. Don't take my word for the reviews!

Across the road is (in my and most expat locals' view) the best European supermarket ("Villa") in Hua Hin. Here, you'll also find the local night market with food and drinks, DVDs, clothes, etc. A 3 min. walk in the same direction get you to the The Grand Thaiboxing stadium with it's weekly fight nights...but don't worry, the apartment is very private and super quiet!

I love street food and my personal favorite is the charcoal BBQ and papaya salad stand on the curb across the road (closed on Tuesdays). It opens in the evening and is very popular with locals...don't leave without trying it!

The pictures pretty much says it all a tastefully decorated 115 sqm top level (4th floor) corner apartment, floor to ceiling windows in the open plan dining and living area from which you access a private balcony. 2 large bedrooms, master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom has two single beds and bathroom adjacent to the room. The apartment sleeps 4 (or 5 a bit depending on kids etc, ask...).

There's a modest but a fully equipped kitchen with 4-plate hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle etc.

Cable TV is expensive and a dying unlike most of the other apartments in the block we've installed a private and unlimited ADSL2 broadband connection so that you can , stream Netflix / Spotify or the news of your home country (BYO Chrome Cast). Sure, there's a top set box from True cable TV but...there's also a new (as of " LCD TV, DVD player with a collection of films, remote controlled CD and Radio unit (but BYO bluetooth speakers are better).

It's our home away from home and we love being here as it has everything we want in a relaxing and safe location where the staff is really friendly and helpful and you don't need to dress up just to leave your room.

Building facilities include 24/7 security, front desk, laundry service, and other service staff (10-20+ full time employees), 3 large swimming pools, beautifully tended gardens, fully equipped fitness center, kids playroom, 2 Scandinavian imported saunas, business center and underground secure parking.

The cleaning fee includes cleaning before/after check in/out, laundry of towels and bed linen etc. Check in/out process is managed by a separate property manager fluent in English and a few other languages so you're in good hands.

If you're tired after a long flight the most convenient way to get here from the airport / BKK is in a private car with a driver who knows exactly where he's going and will call the property manger on the way to meet you upon arrival. It doesn't cost more than a normal yellow cab (but smells MUCH nicer!), just ask and we'll arrange it for you. The same goes for cooking classes, motorbike/car rental etc. etc...just ask and we'll try to help out.

Price excludes electricity and water (meters are read at check-in and check-out done by staff so no work for you), used to be included but was sadly misused. Standard usage for 1 week and 4 people is approx. Thai baht. Please note that this is a guideline only and your usage depends on how much you use.

NOTE - Booking requests from guests without photo and other ID verification will be declined. Min. stay is 7 days.

As a guest you'll have unlimited access to all areas inc. pools, gym, saunas, business room and underground car park.

Best part about it? No one else does...with 24/7 security guards from Securitas in both directions (beach and street) it's a very private residence.

Onsite reception desk is attended 09:00 - 18:00. Outside these hours you can alert the security guards should you need to.

You'll also have access to a separate property manager who's not affiliated with the compound whom I enlist separately to ensure that any language difficulties can be ironed out swiftly should they occur.

Le quartier

What makes this neighborhood unique is that it' ON the beach and IN Hua Hin...not in some mosquito infested swap land 10-15km inland (without security) and sold to you as "only a short drive away".


Tuk-Tuk or motorbike taxis are just outside the compound gates...but you can pretty much walk to most places.

If you want a private car and driver for a day to go sightseeing, just ask, we're happy to help.

If you prefer your own mode of transportation just ask and we'll try to help you rent a motorbike or a car.

This is Thailand, the land of smiles, sunshine and beaches :-)! Everyone will try their best to make your stay and experience great but things do work differently here so please be patient, polite and let any of the staff know should something happen that needs attention.

L'appartement de John correspond parfaitement à la description, résidence très calme donnant sur une piscine et jardins et la plage de Hua Hin. John fait gérer l'entrée et la sortie par une agence à proximité qui est efficace. Emplacement exceptionnel pour la plage. L'appartement se situe à 14 minutes du marché de jour et de nuit et clock tower, très pratique. Des commodités sont aussi à proximité immédiate : petit marché en face, centre commerciale à 5 minutes à pied, banque, ... L'appartement est bien équipé, propre (entretien réalisé par la résidence) lumineux et vaste (deux chambres, deux salle de bains, très grand salon). résidence sécurisée très calme. L'appartement étant au 3 ème et dernier étage, il fait chaud et l'utilisation des climatiseurs a été nécessaire. L'électricité et l'eau se payent à part sur compteur, comptez environ 65 euros par semaine (à prévoir dans le budget). Il n'y a pas de store occultant aux fenêtres, donc prévoir des caches pour les yeux, car le soleil se lève à 6 H. Parfait pour des vacances reposantes en famille pour profiter tout à la fois de la plage magnifique et de la proximité de la ville !

We spent 1 month in this very clean and roomy apartment. Beatiful but also kid friendly pool area, direct access to the great Hua Hin main beach. The closest neighbours are the following nice hotels: Marriott and Nidrha, walking distance (via beach) to the following luxery hotels: Centara and Hilton. Close to the city center and grand night market accross the street (good and cheap food). A super good WLAN (130 Mbit). Gym with good Finnish style saunas available free of charge. Negative: No service in the pool area and even the own drinks and food forbidden. In Finnish: Vietimme (3 aikuista ja 1 lapsi) 1kk asunnossa. 2 kunnon kokoista makkaria ja erittäin iso olohuone, jossa olisi vielä helposti yöpynyt 1-2 henkilöä lisää levitettävässä sohvassa (tarjolla oli sermi joka olisi rajannut tilan ok). Keittiössä ei uunia, eikä astianpesukonetta. Huippu hyvä WLAN mahdollisti etätyöskentelyn Suomeen. Otettiin omat pimennysverhot Suomesta mukaan (kun luettiin valitukset muiden kokemuksista), tulivat todella tarpeeseen. Suosittelen samaa, jos ette halua herätä 6:00 auringon paisteeseen: aurinko paistaa aamulla suoraan makkareihin (laitettiin verhot klemmareilla kiinni asunnon nykyisiin verhoihin). Kokonaisuutena tosi hyvä asunto, jos haluaa hyvää laatua hyvällä sijainnilla. Ranta on millä tahansa mittarilla tosi hieno ja siihen tosiaan pääsy suoraan altaalta. Allas todella kiva ja soveltuu hienosti myös lapsille, kunnon kokoisen liukumäen sai päälle kun vain pyysi. Kyllä tätä voi hyvin mielin suositella.

Hi Sami, Glad you had a good time and appreciated the location and private dedicated Broadband :-). I hear you on the food/drinks by the pool but it's not set up as a hotel (although there are 20+ full time staff) and the body corporate doesn't want to run a food & drinks business as it wouldn't be viable. The owner corporation would have to build a kitchen, hire staff, keep supplies etc. for very few people who are residents and all condo's have well equipped kitchens so it wouldn't be good business for the owners corporation. Having said that, if it would work I'd be happy :-)! All the best and safe travels. -John

We really enjoyed our vacation at John's place. The location of the apartment is perfect in Hua Hin. The pool area, beach and night market just across the street is perfect when traveling with smaller kids. We shouldn't walk long for great experiences. John was a good host, we only had one smaller problem and John solved it right away. We would definitely recommend John as host and his nice apartment in Hua Hin.

My only bug bear, except the fact the place needs a good clean is that we were not told about the extra charges for electricty and gas until after checkin!! It's a bit like a retirement home as most people staying are 60+ Brits and Russians escaping their cold winters, we laughed and said we probably brought the average age down by at least 40years!! The night markets and weekend markets were wonderful. Also a great cafe/bakery called Bliss just down the road on the opposite side!! Wonderful area and would definitely return to Hua Hin!!

Thanks for the feedback Candice. It's no secret and clearly stated on the AirBnB ad that water and electricity is paid separately by the guest. It's up to the guest to read the ad before booking and agree to the T&Cs. It's difficult for me to make sure that ever guest have read what they should before booking, I can't make people sit an exam :-). It's common that the guest pays this in Asia (it's a different part of the world so what we may be used to in the western world doesn't always apply). The reason for this is that lots of people treat AirBnB as a hotel and leave 5 aircons blasting 24/7, it's unreasonable that the host (who's not a global hotel chain) should pay for this. The result would be more expensive rent for all so the people that doesn't leave the aircons on have to pay for the ones that do and most think that's unfair. As for the age of the people around the pool at the time of the year when you were there...there's precious little I can do about that :-). Hua Hin in general is a slow little town by the coast, not a party place like the islands and lots of people like that. As for the cleaning, thanks for bringing that to my attention, professional cleaners clean it before ad after each guest. Again, it'll never be the same as the Marriott next door...but you also just pay a fraction of the price of Marriott. I'll order a special clean to resolve it. Anyway, I hope you had a good stay and enjoyed Hua Hin and the water parks we recommended etc. All the best.

The Apartment is spacy and comfortable with a super location in Hua Hin. Everything is like the despcription and the photos. We had a smooth check-in and check-out by John's friend and had no communication with John during our stay as there were no problems to solve.

Property was as described perfect for a beach holiday and John was very good at responding to my questions. He also arranged transport to and from the airport which was very helpful. There is a large TV which we never watched as it is mainly in Thai, Wifi was good and the air con was very eficient we had it on most of the night in two rooms and the bill for electric and water was 1700 Baht for 14 days. The complex is very close a lot of amenities, including Market Village Mall which has a large supermarket and numerous shops. There are several restaurants within walking distance in the road behind the electrical supermarket opposite which serve good food at very low prices. There are numerous restaurants in the main town which is again within easy walking distance. In addition there are lots of hotels offering happy hours close by including Centara, Cape Nidra and the Marriot which are worth a visit. The local green bus stops outside the door and costs 10 Baht per trip, a real experience and stops, right outside Bluport Mall and Cicada Market. It should be noted that Hua Hin is bisected by a busy main road and you need to cross with care. There is a lack of sun beds by the pool at busy times and unfortunately people are very selfish and reserve the sunbeds from the crack of dawn. There are sun loungers in the apartment which you can use. To summarise we had a very enjoyable holiday for 2 weeks over Christmas and would certainly recommend this property for someone who wants to be right on the beach.

This is a large, older, poorly maintained condo in a central location. It easily sleeps six; eight if you use the couches. The kitchen is fully equiped and the dining room table is big; ideal for large groups eating in. There is minimal closet space, and the thin plastic blinds do not keep out the sun. if you are a large group looking to save cost, do not mind living out of a suitcase and enjoy rising with the sun, this condo is ideal.

Gene, The apartment is as shown on the photos, nothing more, nothing less. Despite this you wanted me to pay for and rip out permanently attached fabric (not plastic) blinds that I like and every other reviewer on AirBnB don't seem to that you could "sleep better" for 2 weeks. When I didn't want to do this you started saying that your local friends was to check up on me since you (wrongly) assumed that I own this property via a company. I don't, I own it out right and am registered at Hua Hin land office and as I told you, please have your friends do a title deed search and check it, it's open to the public. Moreover, threats (even if subtle) don't work that well on me. You also managed to upset the staff that tried to assist you (the building manager contacted me), you didn't show up on time so that people had to sit and wait for hours for you specifically. I don't think this is very nice, I pay people especially to do check ins/outs for the guests but they are to be treated with the same respect as any other human being. There are wardrobes in every bedroom, perhaps if you use them you don't have to live out of your suitcase? You said the linen storage room lock locked itself, that's a first in 9 years and doesn't happen unless you click the button on the inside of the door. You said that it was too full so that something (a towel, or a bed sheet?) must have fallen by itself with enough force to lock it from the inside...I got the staff to drill it and replace it straight away when you told me. I still find it very unlikely that a self-falling piece of cloth can lock a door but I don't know what you put in there. I really have nothing against you and tried my very best to help out and be polite throughout this process and so did the rest of the staff but it's not my fault that you didn't like the blinds as shown on the pics. When I didn't want to replace them for your 2 week stay you found every other thing annoying. AirBnB is not a hotel site, my building have 20+ full time staff but is still not a hotel. We try our best and I'm honest in the description of the AirBnB ad, I try to deal with any problem that a guest may have and according to the other reviews that's been sufficient to date.

Hi there!

When I don't work in an office, I like travelling and do a few trips overseas trips per year. As it turns out, I tend share my time between Europe (where I was born), Asia (where my mum lives) and Australia (where I currently live) but have also spent quite time in the Americas. I used to like sightseeing, now I often enjoy the people and food more than the actual destination (the exception may be Ilha Grande, Brazil).

If I have the luxury of time I prefer not to plan my trips too much, I like to have the flexibility of going in random directions based on the people you meet. If you are good to the people you meet, fun things happen and you end up in "un-plannable" places and situations and often make some friends along the way.

I'm pretty laid back but responsible in general, the same goes for my hosting style. If you have any issues, need something out of what's advertised...just ask and we'll come up with something that works for all.
