This beautiful abode is set in an ancient juniper and piñon pine forest. It's really quite magical. I created this place for you to connect with the land and connect with your heart. It's the ideal high-end, rural retreat yet still near the hotspots.
This compound is enchanting. The primary dwelling, which we call "The Q" is a 1300 sf adobe house with a full bath and kitchen. This house sleeps 4-7. It has an open floor plan with a sleeping alcove. (There are no actual bedrooms.) Not far away is the Stick Casita. (Casita means "little house"). It has one bedroom with 2 twin beds and a twin bed in the living room. There is also a full bathroom and kitchenette in this casita. Behind the trees between the Stick and the Q are 2 tipis- great for ceremonies or sleeping during dry times. Nearby are 3 tents- be sure to bring your own sleeping gear! WiFi is at the Q. There is also a flatscreen TV & DVD player, (no cable/satellite), a great stereo system, and lots of good books to read and games and puzzles. Additionally, we can recommend an incredible cook, as well as other services such as massage, music, and yoga on site.

The property these 2 houses are on is 8 acres, and then there is an additional 12 acres with a charming hiking loop. You may have those last 12 acres to yourself, or you may be sharing them with my other property residents down the road. Nearby, (that's a relative term here in NM), is Ojo Caliente Spa and Mineral Springs and also the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument where you can wade, river raft, hike, and horseback ride. Both of these wonderful areas are a half hour from the retreat. Taos is about 40 minutes.

They have the place to themselves, but we have a wonderful caretaker who will welcome them with a brief orientation. He lives across the road, so he's available if needed.
Whether or not you want local art, active adventure, indigenous culture, or a relaxing soak, every evening you will find yourself in the peaceful quietude of the surrounding forest and its natural inhabitants. This is an excellent getaway for couples, small families, close friends, or harried individuals in search of peace.
We can't accept pets, but there are 2 kennels conveniently located on your way in, about 2 miles from the property. Inquire for info.

I love the U.S. and I love to travel. Northern New Mexico is one of my favorite places- it's so eclectic, romantic, and spiritual, and it's full of art and artists! I'm an artist and designer myself, and on the side I teach yoga, (Sivananda style), and I do intuitive readings. Raised in the country in northeastern Pennsylvania, I then spent 23 years in NYC and San Francisco. Now it's wonderful to return to my rural roots, (but in a sunnier climate!), here in Carson. If you love trees, and you love the Southwest, this place is for you!
