Our newly remodeled studio cabin is nestled in the woods on our family sized farm. A cozy 500 square feet comfortably fits 2 but can accommodate up to 4. Our small farm is centrally located along the bus line near the public pool, Vashon town, public beaches and much more.
This cabin was once a fruit stand throughout the 1930's. It has since been remodeled and is completely updated for comfortable living. The studio offers a full kitchen with gas range, a cozy bathroom and a washer and dryer for your use. The space would be the most comfortable for 2 adults but can accommodate 2 additional people on the full size futon, depending on how comfortable you are with one another.
Additionally, there is a large deck off of the back where you can enjoy the quiet that Vashon has to offer.
The studio is located on our family sized farm and you are welcome to meet the animals through the fence. We will leave eggs and anything we might have from the garden for you in the kitchen upon your arrival. The farm activity is far enough away that you won't be bothered by our demanding animals.
We do not have a tv in the studio but you can stream from your computer or other devices via wifi or an Ethernet connection.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the entire cabin and are welcome to lounge in the hammock and wander the farm. We just ask that you talk to us before going inside the fence where the animals are. We have 2 dogs that you may meet as well.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We are open to meeting guests but also understand the need for privacy. We will leave it up to you to set the tone. If you would like us to meet you at check in, I would be happy to accommodate but you are welcome to arrive on your own and make yourself at home. We will always be available by phone.
We have wireless at the cabin but you can also plug your devices into an Ethernet cable if you prefer. The wireless information will be listed in a binder that you can look through after you have settled in. We will also have various menus and suggestions for activities around the island.
We also have a pack and play available for use during your stay. Just let us know that you would like to use it before showing up and we will have it ready.
Our house rules are simple and mostly common sense. If you are expecting other guests for dinner or drinks, we would like to know. We would like you to clean up the dishes that you use and treat the place with respect.
Also, please consider your neighbors (us) in terms of noise pollution late at night and we will return the favor.
If anything happens to any of the linens or any of the kitchen equipment, just let us know so that we can either fix it or replace it as necessary. Fun is encouraged but too much fun can cost you the security deposit. Specific house rules can be found below.
Please do only low volume wash loads and remove dryer lint after each load and do not use dryer and oven simultaneously.
Don't use light switch on the hinge side of the front door (it's a remote switch that is controlled by the light switches on the other side of the door).
Do not climb into the loft as it is a storage area only.
Please remove shoes at the front door.
Do not put grease or any garbage down sink and nothing but toilet paper down the toilet (our house is on a septic system, please be kind to it).
The garbage and recycling are in separate bins below the sink, we will remove both after your stay.
Countertop is made from concrete and is porous - please be mindful:
No red wine or staining foods on countertop without a good barrier, i. e. a saucer or bowl and no hot items directly on countertop.
If you need to shave in the bathroom please lay a towel over the counter as shaving cream will stain the counters.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or pads on countertops.
The heater can be turned on with an on/off switch and the temperature is statically set. Please don't try to adjust the temperature.
Lastly, please no smoking inside or near open doors or windows.
