Currently we offer a discounted rate as there is a construction site next door. Having said that, in Thailand construction is done by hand, so it is not very disturbing. No noisy construction is carried out before 9am or after 5pm.
Shambhala Boat House serves, as the name implies, as a boat house for Shambhala Beach Bar. "Shambhala Sundowner" the floating version of Shambhala Beach Bar is parked there. The ground floor is a boat garage. The top 2 floors are a modern 3 bedroom Apartment located just steps from one of Koh Chang's longest and most beautiful sandy beaches. So you basically have the whole house to yourself. Shambhala Boat House is right on/over the boat canal which can be used for swimming or kayaking / SUP and of course boating so a boat trip could start right at your doorstep.
The Boat House has one very large King size double bedroom with en suite bathroom and a somewhat smaller Queen size double bedroom with separate bathroom on the Living Room floor.
A large Kitchenette with combi Microwave/Grill, a large Fridge/Freezer and a 4 field hob allow for much more than preparing snacks if required. All Kitchen utensils as well as table/glassware is available. The fridge is stocked to also serve as a minibar for the two bedrooms on this floor. The spacious living room features a breakfast bar connected to the kitchen and a large sofa with flat screen TV, DVD player, Satellite receiver and a sound system. From the fully glassed living room a huge 100m2 terrace leads out over the canal. It features a large table with covered seating for 8. Lounging on a terrace over water is a special feeling, especially if your views are the peaks of the Jungle clad mountains of Koh Chang, the meandering river and the mangrove forests beyond that. In the distance a red roof protrudes the lush green palm tree canopy which belongs to the Temple in the nearby fishing village. If the wind is just right, in the evening the relaxing chants of the monks from the Temple can be heard just before sunset.
The larger of the 2 Bedrooms on this floor, features a large balcony with 2 comfortable chairs and a table. While there is no direct sea view from this balcony, the proximity to the beach can be heard and felt and the sunset atmosphere as well as the sea breeze can be enjoyed there. The balcony wraps around the building forming a gallery which allows you to walk around the entire floor outside the building, leading to the huge deck on the other side.
Both bedrooms feature modern furniture, good mattresses, built in cupboards, separate bathrooms, Flat screen TV, DVD player and sat TV receiver.
The top bedroom, the Master Suite which is intended to serve as a Honeymoon suite is definitely the crown jewel of the Boat House.
It is a very large King Size double bedroom with an integrated large designer bathroom, Through the shower there is a glass door leading outside to the mountain facing (back) terrace which has been transformed into an additional, full out door bathroom with a LED Rain shower and a large (2 person) soaking bathtub under the stars. The deck also wraps around the building and following the gallery will take you to the front (sea facing) terrace which boasts spectacular views of the beach, the bay and the islands beyond.
Sunsets are wonderful from here and seating arrangements are available accordingly. So you don't have to go downstairs to get a drink to enjoy a sundowner, the master suite has its own minibar and fridge, as well as a limited selection of glassware.
The master suite of course also has modern built in furniture and cupboards, Flat screen TV, DVD player, sat receiver and its own sound system.

Boat trips of al variations are available from the Boat House or the Marina just steps away.

If you are an Expat living in Thailand and have your own speed / ski boat, you are welcome to bring it along and park it at one of the boat house's wet berths at no extra charge during your stay. There is a private boat ramp ramp right next to the boat house for launching and retrieving your boat and ample parking for your trailer,

Shambhala Boat House is just a few steps from Chang Noi Beach, one of the longest, widest and most spectacular sandy beaches on Koh Chang. The 2km long, sandy beach is defacto private as only residents and guests of the resort development can access it.
The island's coolest sunset spot, Shambhala Beach Bar is also just a few steps away. The famous, small, relaxed beach front pool bar specializes in Cocktails, Mocktails and Fruit Shakes and serves food also. Open daily from 11h00 and Closed on Wednesdays.
A short walk (or Kayak) leads you to the development's own Marina and associated Marina Pub which features Pub Games of all sorts, Minigolf and a Pirate Ship bouncy castle for the little ones. The Marina Pub serves drinks, Pizza and Pasta daily from 15h00 and is closed on Wednesdays.

The development (Siam Royal View) has 4km of Ocean Front, 2km of Sandy Main Beach, several other small beaches a private pier with great coral reef for snorkelling. A "defacto" private bay with 2 deserted islands within Kayak distance. Watersports, a Golf course (9/18 hole pitch and putt), The Beach Club and a Marina with a Pizza Pasta Pub and Games (Darts, Pool Billard, Foossball Table, Ping Pong, & covered Minigolf), all in walking distance.
Also just a few steps on the beach is the famous Shambhala Beach Bar with Koh Chang's largest selection of cocktails, at the islands coolest Sunset spot with a swim up wet bar, so bring your bathing suit. It also features Koh Chang's only outdoor pool table and plenty of sun beds and other lounging spaces to chillax. (daily 11am - 10pm or later on demand, closed Wednesdays)
Shambhala Beach Bar also offers SUP and Beach Bike Rentals as well as Kite Surfing.
Alternately flag down or call the Resort shuttle to get around.
The nearby Fishing Village of Klong Son offers shopping and Restaurants.
The main tourist stretch of White Sands Beach (4.5km away) offers Entertainment, Restaurants and shopping galore. Further down the west coast explore many great beaches each with its distinct character and each with a different vibe.
The East Coast is also well worth exploring and has some great stuff including wonderful natural attractions such as mangrove bays, waterfalls and fishing villages. You may also want to rent a scooter or car to get around. The staff at The Beach Club can help you arrange this or any thing else you may need.

Free Shuttle Bus inside the development and to nearest 7-eleven shop.
(Flag down the Shuttle anywhere within the development and hop on or call The Beach Club to send the Shuttle to you, wherever you are inside the development.)
Rent a Beach Bike from Shambhala Beach Bar.
Use a Kayak to get to the Marina Pub, close to the nearest shop, the main Pier of the Fishing Village, the nearby Temple and to Aiyapura Resort further down the River or just continue all the way down the river to the river mouth and into the bay.

We hope you have a great stay and we are available to assist you in any way we can. On site staff at the Beach Club or at Shambhala beach bar are very friendly and help full. Maids clean the house 3 times per week and change both bath and pool towels. Bed Linen are changed every week and for each new arrival. Food and Drinks can be ordered into the Villa from the Beach Club and Pizzas and Pastas can be ordered from theMarina Pub. Minibars are well stocked and payable on departure in cash. Electricity usage is metered and payable on departure at a rate of THB 6 per kWh. (usually about THB 1500 / week with normal night time bedroom use of Airconditioners)
Tip: To save electricity, switch off the Aircon when you are not in the room.
Once you switch it back on, the room will be cool within 5 min.
Close windows and doors when the Aircon is on.
Set Aircon to 24-27 degrees. This is usually sufficient for most people as the major factor is for the Aircon to dehumidify the air in the room.
Most people feel cold once the room is cooled to under 24 degrees. Many Tourists get sick due to Aircons being set too low.
During Peak Season (15 Dec. - Jan. 15) minimum stay is one week.
