Maison située à 25mn de Cardiff en voiture. 3 chambres pratiques mais une seule salle de bain-wc. Salon cuisine coquet. Géraldine très sympa.

We had a great stay at Crosskeyes. The town is small but it is a great base for exploration of South Wales. The house was very well equipped. We had all home comforts.

Thank you for such an enjoyable stay. Very thoughtful of you to get a few essentials for us as we arrived late. Very flexible check in times and great communication in the lead up to our stay. One thing to note is that we found very difficult to operate the shower - pressure and shower head were poor and water was either way too hot or too cold. Other than that it was perfect! Recommend to anyone who wants a weekend away with great transport links to Cardiff.

This definitely wasn't a place that could accommodate 7-8 people. Although there were two toilets, one is located outside in the garden which is not practical for many reasons and the other was downstairs. There are an adequate number of beds if a large party does decide to go but the layout of the bedrooms also seemed non-practical e.g. in the main bedroom the person lying next to the wall had no way out of bed if someone was sleeping next to them other than physically climbing over them. The design of the kitchen seemed not well thought out e.g. a drawer of cutlery could not be fully pulled out as it would hit another drawers handle on its way out. There was no exhaust system in the kitchen and no fan system in the bathroom. Although there were these flaws, there was hot water and more than adequate amounts of plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc. There is also a supply of cleaning products, kitchen towels and toilet paper. As well as this, the fridge and freezer were large enough. The whole house smelt of damp. The sitting room does not seat 7-8 people comfortably and this should be made clear. Our family of five adults found it difficult to fit onto the two two-seaters when watching tv or movies during our stay and there was always one person left out who had to sit on the uncomfortable dining room chairs. The location of the property was really good and there are many walks and a park that is close by. The station is literally next door with links to Cardiff and Ebbw Vale. We drove to Brecon in an hour too. There are many corner shops and takeaways nearby. The road that the property is on is a noisy one and you can hear the cars going past at all hours of the day. The bedroom I was in had its windows open onto a view of some train tracks and so this was obviously noisy. I don't think this affected my family so much as we are from a busy part of London however I feel that if someone who is not used to these noises were to stay, would find it very disturbing. We did not meet the owners for the duration of our stay but Geraldine was on hand to answer any texts I sent.

Dear Sabreen, so sorry, I got your family mixed up with the prior guests, the Yagoub family. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet your family due to your very late arrival. Thank you for your appreciated comments in your review. We have now added an extra comfortable chair to the lounge area, which is open plan to the kitchenette where we have two small tables in these areas with six chairs, The outside wc and sink has been recently added to the unused boiler room as an extra convenience for guests use. Guests have repeatedly told us that for the number of guests that can be accommodated at this property and location, it is excellent value for money. Full capacity for one weeks stay equates to approximately £10 per person, per night) The property has had a full damp proof course with certificate and we have never had comments about damp smells before. The property is fully double glazed and with windows closed is quite quiet. Unfortunately your stay was in very hot weather conditions, end of August, and you had the windows open. The property is clearly listed as located on a main road, railway station alongside and train track behind. Trains from Cardiff and Ebbw Vale run hourly until 11pm, which is a bonus to many guests We do have other larger properties in South Wales - Blacksmith Cottage in Rogerstone (four bedrooms, a bathroom, a brand new wetroom and cloakroom, also on a main road or Oaks Barn in Llanhennock, Caerleon, semi rural location, with five bedrooms, four of which have en-suites and a cloakroom, plus hot tub if you are looking for a return visit. Thank you

Good overall experience. kitchen could do with a overhaul and limited parking but superb view of the hill. We forgot our boy's teddy and Geraldine returned in the post which was very kind and we are grateful for.

My husband and I have been hosting guests at our holiday cottages in South East Wales for 6 years, During which time we have met guests from all around the UK and also many guests from around the world. We always like to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible so that they have a relaxing and memorable stay.
