My home was featured on the cover of Better Homes and Garden’s Paint Décor magazine and I am very proud of it. As an artist, I have decorated the home with my characteristic whimsy style with art that I have either made or I collect.
My home is large, very open, bright, and playful while also having a comfortable elegant feel to it. One very special feature that visitors always rave about is my back-yard which looks and feels like one just stepped into a very peaceful tropical oasis. Palm trees and lush landscaping surround the back-yard pool and one gets lost by the soothing sounds of the pool waterfall. There is a large outdoor living room sofa, tables and lounge chairs just begging for you to sit down with a book or take a nap for much needed R & R. There is also a large outdoor dining room table as well as a gas grill for your enjoyment. I have set up the back-yard to be truly enjoyed and relished and I hope you do when you come stay with me.
While I am new to AirBnB, I have opened my homes to numerous friends, family and strangers (who later become friends who feel like family after their stay) on more occasions that I can count. I am very much of a people person, very outgoing, friendly and ready to help you. I adore meeting new people from all over the world and hope you will come visit me at my home.
My home is the perfect home base for a remarkable San Diego and Southern California vacation. Located a short 20 minute drive north of downtown San Diego and the San Diego International airport. It is a community filled with warm, friendly professionals and families with every amenity your heart desires close by. Within 2 minutes you will find wonderful restaurants, super-markets, movie theaters, book stores, shopping centers, hair salons, hiking, biking, walking trails, public parks and beautiful scenery. I have lived in San Diego all of my life. I know the city well and am thrilled to help make your stay as memorable as possible. Ask me anything, I am here to help you!
We all know LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCACTION is always important and this is extremely so when visiting San Diego since we are the 8th largest city in the U.S.A. All tourist sights are spread out through our gorgeous city and having a home centrally located, like my home is, will make your stay far more enjoyable*. Every major tourist site is within a 20-30 min. drive from my home, I have listed some below.
DISTANCES: Miles of white sandy beaches, our famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Lego Land, Safari Park/Wild Animal Park, La Jolla, Coronado, the Gaslamp district downtown, wine tasting, Padres Petco stadium (where our baseball team the Padres play), Coronado, Chargers Qualcomm stadium (our football team the Chargers play here) are within a 20-30 minute drive from my home. (My home is 2 miles from the most major freeway.)
UCSD and SDSU are within a 20-30 minute drive. Alliant University, Mira Mar and Palomar College are 7 min. away.
Venturing outside of San Diego, you will find Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm are an easy 1.5 hour drive; Hollywood, Los Angeles and Palm Springs are 2 hours away and Las Vegas is 5 hours away. If you want to explore the mountains, the quaint town of Julian is a 45 minute drive from my home and for some international flavor a visit to Tijuana, Mexico will take you less than 30 minutes. A beautiful half-day drive will bring you to Santa Barbara, while a full-day drive will bring you to San Francisco and Napa Valley.
FOR THE BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL: Sorrento Valley, Carrol Canyon, Golden Triangle, Rancho Bernardo, Pomerado Business Park and Torrey Pines Tech Center are all close by.
ACCOMODATIONS: I have a very clean, bright and serene room available for your use. The room is aptly called “Tranquil Dreams” as it is a very soothing and peaceful place. Inside there is a queen size sleigh bed with high thread count sheets, down comforter tucked inside a brocade duvet, four fluffy bed pillows of varying degrees of softness so you can find the pillow that is just the right one for your comfort, as well as beautiful decorative silk pillows which adorn the bed. There is a ceiling fan/light above the bed as well as a large picture window to provide fresh air should you desire it. The closet has padded hangers, a luggage area and shelves. There is WiFi throughout the whole house.
Your private bathroom is steps away and is elegant and very clean. The bathroom has two sinks as well as a private toilet area where the full shower and bath-tub are located. Being able to close off the toilet area from the sinks allows more than one person to use the bathroom at a time should you so desire. I have stocked the bathroom with a hair dryer and plenty of fresh towels.
Your bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor in a separate wing of the home which ensures you have lots of privacy.
Additionally, to make your stay more enjoyable, there is a coffee maker for your individual use upstairs and I have provided all accompaniments for both tea and coffee. I have also left you some bottled water. Feel free to use the kitchen and the refrigerator. I do ask that you clean up after your use and leave things in the same condition as when you arrived.
As mentioned previously, the back-yard is begging for you to sit and relax and enjoy the wonderful weather that makes San Diego the phenomenal place to live that it is.
One thing I do want to mention, I have a 2 lb. short hair Chihuahua by the name of Bruser. When I am not home, I leave him in my art studio where he has his bed, food and water. Please leave him in there until I am home. Also, please be cognizant about always shutting the patio and front doors so he doesn’t get out. While he is naturally curious and will go outside if the opportunity presents itself, at a mere 2 lbs. he cannot defend himself out in the real world. Also, if you happen to suffer from pet allergies I doubt Bruser will present a problem to you. I am generally highly allergic to animals yet am not allergic to Bruser at all. I have never had a person comment that he bothers their allergies. While I can’t promise this of course, experience has shown that he doesn't aggravate allergies in people. Plus he doesn’t wander around the home much. He generally is on my lap or sleeping in his little house.
I truly hope you will come stay at my home! My door is always open and I would love to help make your San Diego stay extra special. Please send me a note if there is anything else I can answer for you. Happy Travels!
NO SMOKING INDOORS. I am very allergic to smoke. If you smoke outside, please do not dispose of your ashes and cigarettes on the ground or in landscaping and please throw away after each use. Just let me know if you are a smoker and I will provide you with an ash tray to use.
Please respect my home and leave it in the same condition which you arrived.
