Le logement

I have a room available in my apartment. This is the master bed room of a large 3BR apartment in Park Slope Brooklyn.

The building is 5 min from the subway and it takes about 15 min to get to the center of Manhattan.

My roomates will be in and out during that time period. I'll be in Paris.

Message me if interested.

DO NOT RECOMMEND BASED ON THE GUEST CONVENIENCE OR CLEANLINESS FACTOR is what reputable guests need to know. this is only my 2nd negative review in 37 other airbnb stays! real life does not match photos at all. bedroom was not guest-ready and AC showed 89 degrees when i turned it on. after having schlepped heavy luggage up/down subways from manhattan to williamsburg to park slope (add 2 hours w/ train & walk & wait) to retrieve keys, i was not a happy camper but willing to overlook. white bed linens (sheets) looked dingy, were not freshly laundered (smelled) and had sleep wrinkles. the toilet bowl was stained yellow, the sink was full of seeming white toothpaste “crust” and the rim was full of shaving hair. once i saw that, i didn’t even look in the shower. the bath and bed trashcans were full with rubbish. the living room glass coffee table was full of smudges, dust, and had a dirty butt (or roach) ashtray sitting on it. i didn’t bother to inspect the kitchen cause i knew i was never going to sleep in that bed or shower in that bathroom. so i left (with an apartment door handle knob that fell off in my hand) and sent the photos of ALL of the ABOVE to airbnb who canceled my stay. only 2 reviews, 50% response rate, taking up to a few days, should tip you off. if you like to gamble--the location is adjacent to the great parts of the neighborhood (park slope, the upper west side of brooklyn) with 2 block access to the DNR subway lines. the apartment is a 3rd floor walk-up (no elevator) on a noisy 4-6 lane thoroughfare (4th ave) but the adjacent avenues east are full of lovely eateries and shops. and the perpendicular cross streets are tree lined and quiet. the HEART of park slope is an AMAZING neighborhood in BK (but starting to become a bit yuppie and family oriented, if that matters to you, due to gentrification). the apartment is spacious and open, bright and airy and H-O-T (no AC in the central space, small unit in bedroom), but dirty and UNguestworthy. i’d imagine this could be a great airbnb apartment with the right scrubbing, preparation, and TLC. while my host was nice, responsive (eventually answered all emails but two, albeit the two important: the ‘please pre-approve i’m ready to book’ and ‘checkin time/logistics’) and patient (given a few days of subsequent information gathering; plus i had run into a scheduling dependency out of my control), i realize in hindsight, his booking approach was probably a bit too lackadaisical or passive for me—i.e., no engagement or interest in booking “stay...don’t stay etc” perhaps because its not a priority as this listing is posted for a may timeframe when he was supposed to be in paris. i now realize which i believe means you're getting his room and displacing him--listings as such, are not recommendable. i would not book here...

Me and my best friend had a great time staying here! Bikram, our host's housemate was a great addition to our time spent there. The room was exactly what we needed clean bedding, simple and functional. The location is also well placed, down the street from the R train at Union and one block from 5th street where there was plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Being two women from California, traveling to and from Brooklyn/New York we felt safe even traveling at the not too late hours. I would recommend this space.

Everything was good, kind roommate, close to the metro, a lot good places by 15 min walk. If you need place for sleep and you won't spend a lot of money it is best!
