The Stables sits in a secluded location within a rural valley three miles from Druidstone Beach and the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The cottage has been upgraded to create a stylish and comfortable space for couples, families and friends to enjoy.

The Space:
5, Rogeston Cottages ( The Stables) provides exceptionally comfortable accommodation for a couple in a double bedroom with the option of an additional sleeping space for two older children or adults in a mezzanine bedroom accessed by ladder style staircase. The cottage has recently been upgraded and refurnished in a fresh, contemporary style that also retains the character and integrity of the original building. It has been tastefully designed in hues of white, grey and blue with homely touches in the form of locally made cushions, pottery, pictures and prints and a beautiful welsh tapestry blanket.

The open plan kitchen /living area is directly accessed from the front door and sits within a double height space reaching into the apex of the beamed stable roof. The kitchen is fitted with a range of units containing everything you might need for a short or long stay. There is a large fridge freezer, a washing machine/dryer and dishwasher plus ample cutlery, crockery, glasses, pots, pans and utensils as well as champagne glasses for special occasions.

The living area features a wood burning stove, a dining table with four chairs, a four seater feather filled sofa with armchair, a flat screen TV with DVD player, shelves stacked with books, maps, DVDs and local information for guests' use . Extras include a vinyl record player and a Bluetooth speaker with radio.

In the main bedroom there is a king size bed with luxury mattress, feather duvet and pillows plus a full width fitted wardrobe/cupboard providing plenty of storage space. Beds will be made on arrival with good quality bed linen .

The slate tiled bathroom has been fitted with a powerful electric shower and modern toilet and basin set. A full set of towels is provided.

Guests who choose to make use of the mezzanine space (at own risk) will find twin beds , two small sets of drawers and a TV for playing games or watching DVDs. The Velux window opens onto the communal gardens at the back of the property ( good for stargazing on a chilly night!)

The cottage is fully insulated making it comfortable for use all year round. The recently installed (easy to use) wood burning stove ensures that the main living space and mezzanine are cosy on the coldest of winter nights and the bedroom and bathroom are kept warm by efficient electric heaters. There are extra blankets, hot water bottles and fan heaters in case of a particularly cold snap. A basket of logs, kindling and fire lighters will be available on arrival.

Outside Space:
The Stables opens onto a private gravelled garden /seating area surrounded by shrubs. There is wooden bench hand built by a local craftsman .Two bistro sets plus garden chairs and zero gravity recliners are available for use . The garden captures the morning sun- great for a morning coffee listening to the birds.

The Stables sits at the end of a row of cottages formed around a courtyard of seven individually owned ,converted farm buildings. Each residence has a numbered parking space. On arrival guests should look for the space marked 5.

Guests are welcome to use the communal gardens to the rear of the property to capture the sun in the afternoon and early evening.

In the grassed area behind the cottage there is a stable block for storage. The section belonging to the cottage is marked 5 and contains some items for guest use such as garden furniture , beach toys and logs/kindling
( payable by Honesty Box) Details and padlock code will be provided prior to stay .

The Stables is our holiday home. We live in London so will not be on hand to meet guests in person. However we want to talk to everyone who books the cottage either by phone or email before their visit to ensure a relaxed, enjoyable and trouble free stay. We will provide a range of contact details so that any problems can be dealt with promptly. We provide an information sheet for guests with recommendations and further details about the cottage and the area.

Rogeston is situated in a secluded rural location on a quiet country lane just three miles from the sea and the National Park yet only five miles from the supermarkets and amenities of Haverfordwest. Newgale, the nearest centre for surfing and other sea based activities is fifteen minutes' drive away and Nolton Stables only two miles from the cottage.
Being more or less mid-way along the Pembrokeshire coast, Rogeston is ideally located for exploring both the north and south of the county with beautiful beaches to explore and attractions for all ages including castles, the seaside town of Tenby and lovely St Davids with its stunning cathedral.
Beside the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastal path there are numerous inland options for walkers and many quiet or traffic free cycle trails across the region. In the spring and summer months a wildlife spotting boat trip to one of the islands is a must.
For eating and drinking we are lucky to have the famously quirky Druidstone Hotel with its relaxed and welcoming bar and restaurant ( look out for the regular 'Feast' nights ) only eight minutes' drive or thirty minutes' walk from the cottage. The sea view from the garden and restaurant is glorious - perfect place to watch the sun go down.
Despite the region's natural beauty, traffic jams are few and far between. Beaches are rarely crowded even in the summer months making Pembrokeshire an ideal destination for those wishing to get away from it all
Information leaflets and recommendations are available in the cottage

You will need a car to get the most out of Pembrokeshire. However there is a railway station at Haverfordwest and a range of taxi companies. The 'Puffin Bus' serving visitors and walkers runs up and down the coast during the late spring and summer months ( the nearest stop is behind Druidstone Beach) . Timetables for the Puffin Bus and other bus services are available at the cottage.

The Stables may be difficult to find at night for first time visitors. Details on how to get to the cottage will be provided on booking

Some of the roads are narrow or single track with passing places.

Please note that the mezzanine space is accessed by ladder and there is no rail or barrier around the opening to the room. We therefore advise that it is only used by adults or children over 8 at parent's discretion. Use of the mezzanine is at the guests' own risk.

Like many places in the UK Pembrokeshire weather can be unpredictable. The area around Rogeston tends to get muddy after a rain fall so remember to pack suitable footwear. That said it can also be warm and sunny - be prepared for anything!

I live and work in London with my husband and two grown up sons. We are rooted in London but have a love of Pembrokeshire spanning 25 years- first as a young couple then as a family and now as a mature couple. We love wild, remote places but also enjoy the vibrancy of city life.

Three years ago we bought The Stables so that we could spend more time near the sea. We embarked on a project to upgrade the cottage to a state that can now be enjoyed and shared with family, friends and guests.

As a host and guest I can see and experience things from both perspectives . I aim to make people feel as welcome and comfortable as possible when staying at The Stables and as guests we are respectful of other people's homes.
