My husband and I plus our three small children stayed in Julie's beautiful townhouse for a month over Christmas, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The townhouse features hardwood floors, two complete bedrooms with super comfortable queen-size beds (plus a smaller bed in the top floor bedroom that fit our 7-year-old son perfectly). The bedrooms are on separate floors, which is lovely, and both have beautiful newly-done white cottage-style bathrooms with bathtubs and showers. The kitchen is fully equipped with marble countertops, a brand-new stove and a brand-new refrigerator (!!). Plus washer & dryer, which was so great. When we arrived, everything was very clean and welcoming (she'd even left a nice bottle of wine for us), and she arranged for a Netflix subscription for us (to go with her new flatscreen TV and AppleTV) without us even asking. She let us use her home as if it was ours, and we didn't see her during our stay, but the one time I asked her a question she responded and took care of it right away within hours. As for location, the apartment is in prime Santa Monica area just 1/2 block north of Wilshire (and if you've lived in Santa Monica before, you know that's a good location!). We were just around the corner from two great restaurants (one great breakfast/lunch place and a local favorite Indian restaurant). We were also only five blocks from Whole Foods and a few more blocks from Douglas Park (amazing park for kids) -- all within easy walking distance. And one of the best parts for me, we were also just a few blocks walking distance to charming Montana Avenue where you can find anything you need, including my favorite yoga studio Yoga Works, Whole Foods, tons of great restaurants, interior design stores, great coffee shops, trendy clothing and shoe stores, mane/pedi, you name it...love! And of course, you're also only a 5-10 minute drive from Santa Monica's Third Street and the beach. It was amazing to be able to stay in this location, where most hotels go for $500/night for one room, and have space for our entire family and feel as if we were home. As a former native Santa Monica resident, I know what living here is like and this place is truly awesome. We had a wonderful holiday month at Julie's townhouse, and we highly recommends it!
