I was met by Veronica, Edouard's mother as it turned out that he lived in Dubai. Veronica was lovely, she gave me full instructions on how to get to the flat and waited for me kindly when my train was delayed by 30 min. Pros: The flat is very quiet you couldn't hear any noises, bed is very comfortable, constant hot water in the shower and the rest of the flat, Wi-fi worked well, great location, easy access to public transport, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes. Cons: Temperature is regulated by the building, so it wasn't very warm which is out of the host's control and it's understandable but I have to be honest in my review for the benefit of both guest and host. I feel that the place can do with a more thorough cleaning. There is carpet everywhere even where the toilet is which made it smelly and the shower drain needs unplugging. I had problems with the lights as the two which were supposed to light the majority of the flat didn't work, when I asked Veronica if they could be fixed I was told that an electrician was needed and it wasn't going to be fixed while I was there as she had left Paris just after she checked me in, it was very inconvenient for me as I was there for a week. The flat is actually on the 6th floor and you can only take the lift to the 5th floor and then have to walk up a flight of stairs but luckily Veronica helped me when I checked in and the lovely porter when I checked out other wise it would've been a nightmare especially if you suffer from vertigo as I do, also that part of the building seemed to be where the worker used to live in the past or something like that as it had more the 60 flats and most were not numbered and you have to walk through a maze like corridors which didn't feel very safe trying to find the flat at night . All in all it was good and Veronica was kind enough to let me check out at my convenience, I'm grateful for that as it helped me a lot.
Edouard was an excellent and welcoming host! His apartment was exactly as described in the listing. Location was great with easy access to the subway and a quick walk to the Arc (we were in town for the Paris marathon so it was a quick walk to the start and finish line). A very quiet apartment to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city when you need some rest. Edouard was also extremely accommodating when we were having schedule changes in our travel plans with the recent labor strikes in Paris. Communication was always clear and quick, highly recommend Edouard and his apt!
This was my second trip to Paris and I liked this studio so much that I stayed there for 3 weeks this time. You can see my previous review for the overall conditions of the place which had not changed. I just wanted to add that this place feels very comfy, like a little nest in the middle of Parisian roofs. One feels safe and homely there. Edouard continues to be a great host, even checking in on me several times during my stay. That is really nice. I can't wait to come back!
I travelled to Paris for business in the center of town near Champs D'Elysees. I needed a room for over 2 weeks. When I contacted Edouard about his studio, he was quick to answer and very helpful. Because his family lives in the same building, check in was very easy and support was one floor away. The studio is modern with a very comfortable bed and a nice size shower which is much more than what you get in many hotel rooms. The kitchenette is very practical and allows to skip having to eat out all the time. This is a reasonably priced room with great amenities in a very good neighborhood. It is suitable for a business traveler or a couple on vacation. I will definitely return here.
