I am so coming back and staying here again. The porch is fantastic and the house is clean. We spent the majority of time on the porch though, as it has everything one could ask for. The view is gorgeous. Tons of space, and tables and chairs outside. No wifi but you will get used to it and be glad you did not have it. There is cell phone service. Restaurants and shops are a short walk away. Love this place!

Theresa's place is an excellent stay if you are visiting Big Bend National Park and/or want to see and experience Marathon. The location has a great view for sunsets over the mountains. It also has all the amenities of a home, including kitchen, backyard, living room, and a large accessible bathroom. I definitely recommend a stay here if you're planning on exploring the area or just need somewhere to rest after a long drive.

Our stay at Theresa's place was wonderfully relaxed and comfortable. You can feel the care and love she has invested in the beautifully restored space. The attention to small details made us feel like very welcomed guests. The view from the back yard at sunset and under the velvet night sky was amazing! This is a cozy nest for breaking up a trip in Big Bend country. Thanks for making our stay special. We appreciated her prompt and detailed communications, too.

This girl has thought of everything! Such a cute house with every imaginable amenity including 3 ways to make coffee, loads of cable channel choices, lots of space inside and out. Ample parking, fabulous back deck with a bar, swing and a fire pit. 6 short blocks from the main drag and 5 blocks from the beautiful Gage Gardens. Marathon ain't big, but anything you would want to do is either in the house itself or walking distance. We had a great time. HOWEVER, if you are addicted to your technology, there is no wifi in the house so consider leaving your devices at home. Will stay here again when passing through South Texas!!

Theresa is a flawless host! Her place is well appointed and clean as a whistle. I know she isn't in charge of the grand beautiful clouds or the brilliant stars but her place is the perfect spot for taking advantage of those natural scapes. Theresa provided thorough instructions to her place and even filled the kitchen with great coffee and tea. These considerations go a long way when your in Marathon because shopping is very limited. This host is experienced and I can't thank her enough for providing a comfy bed, large bath complete with plenty of hot water and shower pressure, great books and information about the locale and a wonderful porch and fire pit.

I have lived in "Far West Texas"most of my life. Growing up on a ranch provided opportunities to learn about the daily life of a ranching family. I'm a retired teacher having taught school in Presidio, TX for 21 years. My father's family arrived in Marathon in the late 1880's. They were early settlers who ranched in the region. My history in Brewster and Presidio counties has given me a vast understanding of this area to share with my guests.
Marcie will be your host and has managed the properties since they were lovingly restored. I have been blessed to have her continue under my ownership. Together, we want to help people connect with great places to visit, and provide a homey place stay while you explore this little known and remote National Park and State Park area. Many will also find Marathon a great base to branch out and see other attractions in this amazing big bend area.
