I'm an expat New Zealander, who has been living in Scotland for the past 25 years. Richard, my husband, and I are keen adventure travellers, especially in southern and central Africa where we have done several motorcycle trips, but we also enjoy city and cultural breaks.
Richard and I opened By the Brae as a bed and breakfast in late August 2015; we previously owned a guest house in the centre of Inverness for over 20 years. We've met some wonderful people during our many years in the hospitality industry, and we continue to enjoy welcoming people from all over the world. We love the quiet and peaceful location of Westhill, with the city centre only 10 minutes away by car.
When we can we enjoy getting out and about in the Scottish Highlands, which even after 25 years continue to offer wonderful new places for us to discover. We have a passion for this beautiful part of the world and are always happy to share our knowledge and experiences with visitors.
