If you are pampering yourself to a holiday in the wonderful city of Eilat, you should stay at a wonderful place.

The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a Jacuzzi, there are two balconies, a private pool with place for relaxation and sunbathing, barbecue, shower. The kitchen is fully equipped so feel free to cook in if you don't feel like eating out.

The penthouse in Eilat is part of the elite residential complex Amdar Residence. You will be in excellent location: the apartment complex is in close proximity to the sea and at the same time away from the bustling waterfront – a great advantage for all its residents.

In the complex itself there is a large courtyard with a larger swimming pool, sauna, gym, business center, parking.

Arie was an excellent host (in fact he was an agent for the owner, rather than the host himself): he answered messages very promptly. This was a major plus point. There were other unexpected bonuses: a large bowl of fresh fruit and a welcome bottle of wine. Also the area around the main swimming pool was excellent with fresh cold water and very clean showers and toilets. And the main pool was a delight. It was big, had plenty of sunbeds and was also very clean. In the apartment each window and door had electric shutters which was a real bonus, both for security and darkness in the bedrooms. And the huge American fridge/freezer was a real plus! The location was as described: mid way between town and Coral Beach and reception would always call a taxi. A major negative was that the pool was on an upper level (not mentioned in the description) and the narrow steps were difficult and definitely NOT safe for children (although there was a gate). The property itself was a disappointment. Although physically it was as described, the whole apartment (the whole block) was very tired. One loo seat was broken, the shower leaked, uplighters were hanging down from the ceiling, the linen was extremely poor, the main bed was wooden slats, the mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable, the decking area round the private pool was very poor...this could be a beautiful apartment but for what we paid (£1900 for 12 nights) it simply wasn't worth the money. No umbrella for the balcony table meant this could not be used at lunchtime as it was in full sun. We reported a lot of these problems and hopefully they will be addressed. (We reported the fact that all the door locks were broken and these were fixed within the day: well done Arie!) The deckchairs round the private pool were poor quality and uncomfortable. I know there is a problem with pigeons in Eilat but other flats had used netting to discourage them. Not here. And a pool clean once a week is simply not enough (the sandstorm was nobody's fault, but the pigeon mess needs attention). Unfortunately for these reasons we did not use the private pool: a great shame as undoubtedly this accounted for a lot of the high rental price. The second bedroom is less than half the size of the main bedroom, which would present a problem if you were travelling as two couples. (Hilariously, the two doors leading into the bathroom cannot both be used because there is no room for the door handles! A major architectural mistake. You have to decide whether you are going to access the bathroom from the bedroom OR the lounge and correspondingly keep the other door shut!) Also over 12 nights I would have expected a change of linen. So plus points were: Arie, the main pool and the shutters. Minuses were: a very sad, tired apartment and a private pool we couldn't use!

Thank you very much for such a full review. We will definitely pay attention to each of the problem you mentioned in order to fix it and improve the total look of the appartment. But I`d like to point on some details. We do always leave a clean exrta linen for each bed in the wardrobe and a washing powder if you want to use washing machine. You are right telling that it could be nice to put an umbrella outside on the balcony, but upfortunatly it will not be safe to use it because of the wind. Stairs that leed to the swimming pool are equipped with railing, so it`s not dangerous to use it at all, however there is a gate, that you can use to close the entrance to the stairs if you want.

Amdar residence 28, apartment 49 ( private swimming pool). Arie the manager of the Apartment ist very friendly and helpful. The apartment is in the 7th floor and the published pictures are helpful. The roof terrace is gives a good view over Eilat. The pool can be heated, when necessary. The apartment ist well suitable for four, fully equip incl. english television, which Arie programmed, but we did not used, and a dryer, which we did not used either ( the climate dries the clothes in about three hours on the balcony. We felt secure as there is a 24h manager in the basement desk. Parking is no problem.
