My husband, mother-in-law, and I stayed at Ana´s place for three days. We were excited about our stay based on the photos and
Ana´s quick response to questions we had before we arrived. Unfortuantely, we quickly became disappointed when we got to Trujillo with the accomodations as well as our host.
We had left the US a few days before our arrival to Trujillo and had printed the itinerary with the address of the apartment. When we arrived to Trujillo we spent over 2 hours trying to find the apartment with the address and map given on the itinerary. Even the taxi drivers had no idea where this place was. We attempted to call Ana during the search but her number didn´t work. We later discovered that Ana lives in the US and gave us her number there, which we were not informed of and were not able to call with the Peruvian cell we had. After spending a lot of money and time searching, we decided to reserve another hotel for the night. Upon checking the internet in our hotel, we discovered that Ana had sent us the correct address the day before in a message on the site, something that should have been done when we reserved the apartment. We then checked into Ana´s place, leaving half of the money we spent on the new hotel reservation behind.
When we arrived to Ana´s place, it looked like no one had cleaned it in months. The bathroom was dirty with toilet paper in the shower. One of the couches smelled of urine. The sheets had stains on them. There was no hot water as advertised (even though there was a hot water heater, it never worked for us). When we talked to Ana about our concerns, she was very dismissive and not willing to give us the contact information of her sister who lives in Trujillo and is the owner of the apartment.
Overall, we would not recommend this place because of the state of the apartment as well as the host.
