Maria and her family are friendly, helpful and beautiful people. They can't do enough for you - from spending time chatting, to sharing their delicious food, to giving a locals insight into where to go in the area. They're home and garden is beautiful. Urabamba is a great location for exploring the Sacred Valley and is less touristy then a lot of the surrounding towns, giving a better view of normal life and community in Peru. Thanks again Maria for everything.

We had a fantastic stay at Maria's Farm Stay. She was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our kids got the extra benefit of being able to play with her kids which made for an excellent visit. We were only able to stay at Maria's for two nights since she had family visiting but she went out of her way to make sure we had a place to stay with some of her friends after we left her farm. Urabamba is a small town with an excellent food market that is not a tourist trap This meant that there was not much easy access to wifi and tours but it was actually a relief and let us just enjoy the farm life.

My friend and I were heading to Urubamba for a week of language courses and stumbled on this wonderful farm stay on airbnb. Our language school ended up severely disappointing us but Maria and Gustavo made our stay in Urubamba a dream come true. Maria made us feel like we were a part of the family and even escorted us to Cusco to make sure that we got the right night bus to Lima. She organized ‘spanish practice’ for us that included making homemade corn tortillas and learning new Spanish words. The room looks exactly as it does in the pictures and is big, cozy and the perfect place to stay. The only problems were the wifi (a little finicky) and taking hot showers (which we figured out eventually how to get it warm, but probably should have just asked). It seems like they are figuring out these small kinks as this is a newer listing but it was still one of the best airbnb experiences that I have had (and I travel a lot). If you are looking for a wonderful safe place to stay where everyone treats you like family, then you should choose this airbnb farm stay. As soon as we left, we wished we didn’t have to go so soon and that we could stay on the farm much longer.

Thank you Joy ! We already fix the roof and the street door, we are just beginning with the rainy season, so it has to be fixed. We will have a sign with directions about how to use the shower. We are so glad to know that you enjoyed being at home. Hope to see you some time again, our home is your home.

Gustavo and his mum, Maria are wonderful hosts. Always helpful and you can ask them anything and they'll sort it. If you want to meet local people and understand the local culture this is the place to come for a genuine experience. The location is excellent, just 5 mins walk from bus station to get any form of 4 wheel transport around the valley, travel like a local. Also 10 mins walk to Urubamba which is still genuinely local. The market is worth a visit for locally grown food, you can harvest from Gustavo's field too and cook it in the room. The room is huge, 2 double beds and kitchenette. It's a rural setting so sink is outside and so is your personal bathroom (take a torch at night) all under a roof so you don't get wet. Only seems to rain at night though! The family next door have cute kids, Gustavo's family also live there around the courtyard which has fab views onto the mountain peaks and is planted with beautiful flowers (humming birds included). And if that's not enough, Gustavo is a fab physiotherapist and can give you a massage during your stay.
