Description

Close vicinity to the Great Smoky Mountains, whitewater rafting, zip lining, hiking the AT, and elk viewing. 30 minutes from Gatlinburg, 40 min to Pigeon Forge. Guided hikes, whitewater rafting, and elk viewing, available for additional charge.

The loft has a hand designed custom wood banister. There is no stairway. You must climb a ladder to get to the loft.

Kitchen and bathroom, my living room and TV if you wish.

I live on the main level, below the loft. I will leave you alone, or if you wish, I can suggest things to do, give directions, etc. For additional cost, i can arrange for whitewater rafting, elk tours, and hiking guide.

My cabin is secluded, however it is only 1 1/2 miles from I -40, exit 447. Apologies, but the property is 'not' handicap accessible. There is a 50 yard walk uphill from the driveway.

Parking is in my driveway, although you may need a 4x4 in inclement weather. Other parking optional. The road to the house is narrow and curvy, so I can meet you at the I-40 exit (447) and you can follow me up the hill. I will be happy to help carry your luggage to the house. Gatlinburg is about 30 minutes away, depending on traffic.

For those who are coming from the west, this is eastern time zone. Also, there is a 50 yard walk uphill to the house. I have 2 friendly dogs.

Règlement intérieur

No smoking indoors. Please show up by 9pm, or before dark. Please be kind to my dogs - they are my family. Thank you.

Robin's home was absolutely the getaway that myself and my niece needed for Easter weekend. Exactly as she described, and Robin herself went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. Could not have asked for a more kind or accommodating host.

Great escape from the city and Robin is a wonderful host with a good heart. She really cares and you can see that. She took us around the Smokies for a small fee and it was worth it as she knows the area extremely well and it was great to have a very personable tour guide/friend. She was a great driver too and we felt safe with her at all times. Much better than an organised tour. We had a great time and would love to come back again :)

Robin's cabin is super sweet. The location is near highway and it's in smoky mountains. The loft is suitable for a couple to stay in. We really enjoyed the days staying with Robin and her cute dogs. Robin is a nice person. She prepared everything we might need. We will definitely choose Robin's house again in the future!

Robin is a terrific hostess and I have to add that I now consider her a friend. She is a uniquely kind and thoughtful person. She is interesting, really fun and game for anything. I mentioned Dollywood and she got tickets for us before arrival. We knocked around Gatlinburg and went to Elkmont, an abandoned historical resort community. She had things for us to do for New Years Eve and we went to Asheville and The Biltmore. I loved snuggling with her four dogs, but along with Robin herself, her rescue possum, Maddie, really stole my heart. Robin educated me on the custom, mores and people of Appalachia. I could not have had a lovelier time.

Robin is a great host very attentive to your needs. For example , she knew we wanted to hike on Christmas day and she helped us plan, gave us tips and even a mini lamp as gift. She has four dogs and a possum so you need not mind pets and fur :) This is a great place to stay to explore the Smokies , very close (20 min drive) to trails in the Appalachian Trail. There is poor cell signal up in the cabin so this is a place to really disconnect.

Robin is a wonderful host! She's extremely hospitable and her place was exactly as described -clean and cozy. Her communication was excellent. It was very kind of her to help pick us up and to accomodate our schedule. Highly recommended!

I'm very friendly. I will show you around or leave you alone. Your choice! Just so you know, the loft is in my private residence. It overlooks the living room. You will have a half-bath of your own, and the shower is in the full bathroom. I will, however, give you privacy!

Important: you cannot trust your GPS - the cell service is intermittent. *Please call* to let me know approximately when you will arrive, so that I can meet you.

One more thing I've recently learned to make clear: I want your visit to be enjoyable for both of us.

So if you don't like dogs, please don't book. If you are uptight, judgemental, or critical, please - don't book. Come here to relax and enjoy your stay!

Ok, now, if you decide to book, this is important:

Again, the cell phone service here is hit and miss. The GPS - don't rely on it. *Please call* or text a day ahead of time to let me know approximately what time you will be arriving. If you need a tour guide, hiking guide, raft guide, whatever, please let me know a week ahead of time so that I can clear my schedule. This is because I sometimes don't get messages or calls until the next day or two.

I go way out of my way to accommodate my guests. I want to make your stay a 5 star experience. So if anything is substandard, please tell me and give me a chance to correct the problem while you are here - Thank you!

Seriously, Don't trust the GPS!
