Our Mongolian yurt is in its own little world of ash, rowan, willow and irises by the side of a small river with views to the village of Ardfern and Loch Craignish.
The Willow Yurt is set in 5 acres of woodland on the hillside above the village of Ardfern on the beautiful and wild West Coast of Scotland. We are laid-back and family-run.
Only ten minutes walk from the Galley of Lorne pub, the Ardfern Yacht Centre or the Ardfern Village Store, its a great base for walking, cycling, sailing, or just relaxing round the campfire with family and friends.
The yurt, which is technically a Mongolian Ger imported from Ulan Batur, is a work of art, with hand painted doors, crown and poles. There is a central stove, small kitchenette, central seating area and proper beds for 4 people (one double and two singles).
The yurt is completely off-grid but with access to mains water close by (we provide water containers). There is solar powered lighting in the yurt and the possibility of charging mobile phones via a USB outlet connected to the solar power unit.
Cooking utensils, plates and cutlery are all provided. Just bring a towel, toiletries and bedding, everything else is taken care of. If you prefer, we can provide bedding at an extra charge - £15 for the double bed and £5 each for the single beds. A starter pack of kindling and firewood are included in the price of your stay.
The yurt is built on its own deck with a large veranda and BBQ. Below the yurt by the burn is a large fire pit with seating.
The yurt and tipi are a 2 mins walk from the toilets and shower,. We also have a selection of guides and leaflets about all the things you can do and places you can visit in the area and a cupboard full of games for all the family.
We are open from April to end September ever year.
Fancy going on an adventure? We can arrange anything from whale spotting to canoeing, sailing, expeditions to the islands, fishing trips, horse riding, or whisky tasting. Just tell us what you fancy doing and we will talk to friends who are experts at that sort of thing.
Two nights minimum booking.
Please leave the yurt in the same condition as you find it.
Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on a lead as we have free-range chickens onsite and sheep in the field next door.
Check-in from 2pm, check-out by 11am.
