H Street NE continues to grow as one of the coolest neighborhoods in DC. With a rich restaurant scene, nightlife, and many entertainment options, something new is always going on. The area surrounding H Street is primarily single family homes making for an established community that contributes to the area's vibrancy. Some highlights within walking distance of our house:
Rock & Roll Hotel- a music venue that features a concert stage and a dance floor w/ DJ.
Maketto- named one of DC's hippest new restaurants, this multi-use space includes southeast Asian fare, retail, a bakery, and a cafe.
Dangerously Delicious Pies- fill up on savory and sweet pies until 3:30am on the weekends in this hipster-pie paradise.
Toki Underground- A cozy upstairs Taiwanese ramen place where the prices are right but seats can be hard to come by.
The Pug- Leave any pretentiousness aside in this grungy dive bar. Go here while you wait for your table at Toki Underground!
Bullfrog Bagels- Grab a bagel sandwich for breakfast from this pop-up handmade bagel shop.
Atlas Theater- catch a play here- there is always a variety here to meet different tastes.
Granville Moore's- You will forget where you are as you eat delicious bowls of mussels and frites in this dimly lit tavern.
And a little farther away, but still recommended....
Sidamos- An Ethiopian coffee shop that has the best chai lattes.
Kingman Island- A rarely frequented island accessed by wooden bridges on the Anacostia River (very close to RFK stadium). This is a must for any nature lovers who really want to explore what NE DC has to offer!
You can access our home using public transportation from Stadium Armory metro station (BLUE/ORANGE/SILVER 1 mile away) or Union Station (RED/AMTRAK/BUS 1.5 miles away). There are many options to bus or walk from these stations.
There is a bikeshare station within 5 minutes walking distance from our house. Many attractions can be easily accessed by bicycle in DC, which has some of the best bike infrastructure in the country.
It is easy to find street parking in front of our house but you will not be able to leave your car there for more than 2 hours at a time between 7am and 8:30pm on weekdays. Outside of those times, you may leave your car parked without moving it (i.e. overnight and weekends).
Our second bed is a sofa that converts into a bed in the second bedroom.
We live on a small residential street with some families near by- please do not be loud late at night.

I love to travel. I lived in Dalian, China for one year while teaching English and hosted many travelers during that time period. I am hoping to go back to China one day to further explore the country.
I am an avid cyclist and active in the DC biking community. I hope you can explore DC by bike as well.
My favorite books are Confederacy of Dunces, Herzog, Dune, and 1000 Splendid Suns of Jacob de Zoet/Cloud Atlas. My favorite movies have gone unchanged for a while- Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. You can find these all in my house!
