I rented the apartment for my sister and her friends who were coming to join me in Cape Town for the weekend. Henk arrived very promptly and the check in process was very quick and easy. The apartment is lovely and the views from the roof terrace simply breathtaking.

This flat is all about the roof terrace, the view to table mountain and down to the harbour is simply stunning. The area is safe, easy to navigate, and a really central neighbourhood. Guido & Henk are great too, they helped us organise a driver to the winelands, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.

Guido & Henk went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a comfortable one. When we had a last-minute change in our arrival plans, they graciously helped us out by easing a logistical burden. Upon arrival, Henk showed us around the apartment and recommended restaurants in the area. Once settled in, we especially enjoyed the coffee machine and the lovely rooftop terrace, which offered beautiful views of Cape Town at night. Thanks for a great stay!

I am a waiting a full refund already agreed with the hosts, submitted to AirBnB on Saturday 22nd. Unfortunately, on entering the flat with my colleague, it was very apparent there was a problem with the drains. Essentially a back flow with an unpleasant smell. I understand the owner has only just purchased the property and hasn't had time to sort the problem out. A builder had left Henk a bottle of gylcerine which he put down the drain, but unfortunately the smell and the further glycerine smell from the ensuites had permeated the bedrooms and the apartment. It was evening so we felt unable to make alternative arrangements at very short notice. I ended up sleeping on the roof on a bench for some clear air. We left that morning and Henk offered a full refund without us having to ask which was appreciated. He was accepting of the situation and considerate at all times. Very disappointing though as we cut short our trip as with little to no sleep we were exhausted.

Réponse de Guido & Henk :
We discovered a smell coming from the drain in a shower room when the shower had not been used for a few days. Our builder advised pouring in glycerin to block the smell, pending a permanent solution. Unfortunately, the glycerin did not remove the smell altogether and we gave the client a full refund, with our apologies. Currently the builder is installing one-way valves on the shower drains, to eliminate the problem completely.

Henk & Guido were lovely & very informative on our arrival at Loader St. Clean modern apartment with great rooftop deck & magnificent views of Capetown. Our party of 4 enjoyed our stay there as it was so centrally located & walking distance to restaurants, shops & the waterfront. The only negative would be the smell from the drains which was easily fixed by pouring a little disinfectant (supplied in the cleaning cupboard) down the shower drain & into toilet bowl before retiring. Only a little inconvenience considering the overall positive experience. Another highlight was the Village cafe around the corner which served an excellent coffee & breakfast.

We moved from Amsterdam to Cape Town in February 2010. We really enjoy living and working here.
The climate is great and De Waterkant is a wonderful part of Cape Town to live.
In September 2010 we started our B&B. Since 2011 we have managed Noon Day Cottage, and in February 2013 we added our self-catering apartment in Loader Street.
