Taste traditional village life while enjoying creature comforts in this beautifully restored wooden villa. Set on 1 acre of lush gardens at the gateway of Angkor, our property makes a perfect base to explore the temples. A rare experiential retreat!
From the moment you enter the grounds of our property, you will experience a haven of serenity and relaxation. Wander through our lush, tropical garden filled with sugar palm and fruit trees, then select a nook we have created for you to sit back, relax, and sense the historic and cultural atmosphere of Angkor.
Our property boasts a beautifully restored wooden villa, with 3 bedrooms. There is also a cottage set in the garden that can be used for larger groups. All bedrooms are equipped with queen sized beds, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The spacious master suite has 2 beds, allowing this room to accommodate up to 4 people. We also have a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for those who like to cook while traveling (like us).
Our place is for anyone and everyone. Nature lovers, artists, writers, or for people trying to get away from it all. It is particularly suitable for families, or a group of friends who want to experience something more unique.

If we are in town, we stay on the property (but in the separate building) and are available to answer any questions, resolve any issues, or provide advice on what you can experience around Angkor and Siem Reap. We can also plan and organise additional services and activities. We will also prepare breakfast for you each morning, which is included in the price :)
While we do our best to ensure our guests are provided with the comfort of amenities such as air-conditioning, internet and hot water, please note that as the property is located in a local village in the countryside of Siem Reap, we do experience power cuts from time to time, usually for short periods of time.
We have selected the best available internet service provider in the area to ensure that the internet connection is as reliable and stable as possible. However, if you require an internet connection for business purposes, we can Siem Reap's leading co-working space and art gallery "The 1961", which is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride away.
As we are located in a local village in the countryside, please note that there are no restaurants, bars or services that are within walking distance. As a result, we can tailor services to our guests which involve arranging transport to town or alternatively, home cooked lunches or dinners. We also have a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which can be purchased at reasonable prices. This means that you don't have to leave the property if you prefer to enjoy our retreat.
We have staff on the property to help maintain the garden and clean the house.
As our property is surrounded by nature, , it is likely you'll encounter a range of animals here : everything from beautiful birds and butterflies, to roaming chickens, as well as squirrels, frogs and some "friendly" spiders. All animals are not harmful or dangerous, so you don't have to be concerned :)
We are gay friendly; and our place is also suitable for groups who want to use our property for health/wellness and yoga retreats; off the beaten track experiences; and vegetarian/vegan travelers or guests who love to cook :)
Please treat the property with respect, and like it is your own. To ensure the security and safety of our guests, we do not allow outside visitors to the property.
Please follow the (Asian) custom of taking your shoes off before entering the house.
Smoking is only allowed outside the villa and cottage. Please dispose of your butts in the ash trays provided, rather than in our beautiful garden :)
Please assist us to care for the environment by placing your waste in the bins provided and be mindful of switching all lights and air-conditioning off when not in your bedroom or on the property.
We DO NOT welcome sex tourists and reserve the right to cancel any bookings from guests who partake in sex tourism.

I (Dean) am Australian from the stunning island state of Tasmania; I left in 2007 for a change of scenery and lifestyle and though I return every year to visit family and friends, Siem Reap is my current home and has been since 2009.
I live here with my partner Ada who is Cambodian; though originally from Prey Veng near Phnom Penh; she prefers to call Siem Reap, home. Her brother Ary works for us full time as a tuktuk driver, takes excellent care of our guests and always has a friendly smile. Her Cousin Champa has recently come to live with us so you will probably also meet her sometime.
I originally arrived in S.E Asia to work as a Tour Leader for Intrepid Travel which lasted around 2 years before I was offered a role as Country Manager. I have remained working in the travel industry until now, as General Manager of a small but exciting company called Beyond. Unique Escapes.
From my previous work experience and personal travels, I know the SEA region very well and I'm happy to share travel advice, ideas and contacts to help you on your way. However my main focus is to help our guests experience the best of Siem Reap, the ins and out and what to avoid.
In my down time, I'm a keen biker and often head out to explore small pathways and trails in the countryside and around the temples... longer rides on weekends. I dabble with the guitar when I get time and I can often be found wherever there is live music happening around town.
Ada is a talented interior designer and decorator; she is responsible for our beautiful rooms at out other property 3Suites. Ada enjoys cooking and is keen to try her hand at establishing a veggie garden at Meru.
We have been hosting on Airbnb since January 2015 and have already amassed 150+ positive reviews for our other property 3Suites. We fell in love with Meru as soon as we saw it and recently have taken over the property from our dear friends Phil and Bel who have done an amazing job bringing it to life! We plan to establish a veggie garden and grow anything we can to feed ourselves and our guests!
As hosts, we are available if you need us and will give you a warm and informative welcome. After that, we leave you to your own devices and allow you to enjoy your privacy.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
