This review is a total lie, written by a disgruntled guest. This building is one of the newest buildings in town constructed in 2009, from what I have been told. Standard Norwegian construction. Standard double bed thats available in most apartments on Svalbard. I am flexible when I can, and when I cannot, I am honest with my guests. I cannot kick out one guest early so that the next guest can check in early. His demands were way more than what we agreed upon when I accepted his booking request. His english language skills are very poor, so he misunderstood a lot of what I said, despite my best efforts. My ad clearly states that this is a private room with a shared kitchen and bathroom and guests have to share the rest of the apartment with me and sometimes with 1 other guest. I sleep on the living room couch but guests always have access to the shared kitchen and the bathroom. Raphael obviously did not read my ad so he thought he would have the whole apartment to himself which was not the case. This is my home. I follow all local rules and I am a totally legitimate airbnb host. Please read my review for Raphael thats posted in his profile "It was not the best experience even though I tried to be as nice as possible with him. He stays silent for 6 months before his arrival, he does not give me an estimated arrival time, he does not respond to any of my messages before his arrival, and then lands in town and calls me several times at work demanding an immediate check in. Raphael expects 5-star hotel standards with a 24 hour reception service waiting for him to check in and check out when my ad clearly states that all I offer is a private room in my home which is a shared apartment. He also got aggressive when I wanted to discuss matters of his short stay and started slamming doors which frankly surprised me and was a cause for concern. His communication skills are bad. Its a shame that I do not understand the french language but his english language skills are poor. He misunderstood me often the few times I tried to explain things to him in the most polite way. Before him, I have had many french speaking guests stay without a problem. It was clear to me that he had not reading my listing thoroughly. He expected to have the whole apartment to himself and was surprised to find that he has to share the apartment with me. I will not recommend him as a guest unless you can offer him 5-star hotel standards." Thank you for reading.
