Ron's condo is a surprisingly spacious studio unit, with separate bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, closets and living areas - not at all cramped. Our patio was literally steps from one of the 7 swimming pools (my wife swears there were 8) and from the restaurant at the pool's edge - a very nice location. Four other pools were within 1 minute or less easy walking distance. The beach was at the opposite end of the pool from the restaurant, just as shown in the pictures. Other beach access steps are located next to the other pools. A very convenient location, and a very safe one too - plenty of unobtrusive security guards on duty 24 hours a day.
The condo complex is unlike most of the others nearby in that no building is more than 4 stories tall, with nicely painted and decorated buildings, not crowded together and with meandering sidewalks throughout - no high rise condo building here. Ron's unit is on the ground floor, which was even more convenient. The grounds of the complex are very well landscaped and maintained.
We had email contact with Ron prior to arrival, and he arranged to meet us at the condo check-in desk at a time based on our airline's scheduled arrival. Unfortunately for Ron, our plane arrived early and we made quick connections for a cab at the airport, so we had already checked in, dropped off our bags and headed for the beach and a tour of the grounds prior to Ron's arrival. Even so, he left his business card for us to call if we needed anything. I sent him a couple of questions via email, and he responded quickly both times, once with great recommendations for restaurants. Try La Leche (dinner), Blake's (dinner), and Fredy's (breakfast and lunch) for the spectrum of good food at various prices.
The WI-FI in the condo is on the slower side - around 1 Gbps - so don't plan on streaming any videos, but for email and web browsing, it's fine.
These are family-oriented condos, so no crazy late night parties to keep you awake, just people relaxing, swimming and having fun.
The concierge desk is right next to registration, and Adriana and the rest of the staff were always helpful in response to our questions.
The mini-mart on the grounds had all the usual basic items, and a huge supermarket in the mall across the street had everything you could think of - even small motorcycles!
Buses are available right outside the condo complex gates, and we used them 3 times to go downtown to the Malecon area. At 7.5 pesos per person, they are a cheap and easy way to get around. I recommend choosing the newer-looking ones, though.
All in all, a great condo for a week of sun and sand and water. Thanks, Ron, for making our vacation easy to enjoy.
