À propos de ce logement
This is a great place to relax all year round. Peaceful, beautiful and surrounded by woodland. There are plenty of walks, some of which can take you to the tops of the mountains which rise to 1000 metres. There are rivers nearby where you can swim. 100% of the payment for your stay goes to the reforestation project.
This is great place to come if you would like to experience how it is to live in a quiet ecovillage. If you need to totally relax, get away from modern living and be close to nature, you will find it here.
The room has one double bed and a woodburning stove.
There is no central heating but the kitchen has a wood fired cooker (like a Rayburn) and the living room also has a woodburning stove.
We have solar electricity and solar water heating, both of which can run out on cloudy days in the winter.
Accès des voyageurs
You will have your own private room in a house and you will have access to the whole house (except other bedrooms).
The house has a bathroom, kitchen and large living room with woodburning stove. The village is in 5 hectares of land which you are welcome to enjoy.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We will be here throughout your stay and we are happy to give you a tour of the project, explain why we do things in the way we do and generally give any advice or information which you may need.
There is one small shop/bar 10 minutes walk away and other bars and restaurants in nearby villages.
Because this is an ecovillage, we are trying to live in an environmentally friendly way and therefore we ask you not to bring your own toiletries and perfume (or anything containing perfume). We provide chemical free shampoo, soap and toothpaste.
This is a vegan project and we ask that you do not bring any food containing animal products into the village. If you need ideas for cooking vegan food we are happy to give you advice, recipes and provide any specialsed ingredients which you may need.
We do not allow pets nor smoking anywhere in the village or on the surrounding land.
The land surounding Valderrodas Ecovillage is a nature reserve which I have been helping to form during the last eight years. The village is at the centre of the reserve and I live here with my partner and the many visitors who come to stay for varying lengths of time.
We are gradually increasing the diversity of wildlife here by felling the invasive eucalyptus and creating the conditions for the native plants to regenerate.
I also love to grow my own vegetables and I have planted many fruit trees, restored an ancient irrigation system and I am rebuilding some of the ruins.
