Ty Beic is comprised of two, one bedroom holiday cottages tucked away on a hill above the tiny hamlet of Sarnau, near Bala, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. These two restored stone barns are a magical place to stay all year round providing a perfect base for exploring North Wales.

The Stable is a one bedroom, dog friendly cottage with exposed beams and stone walls. It is furnished to a very high standard with a certain offbeat charm

Le logement

Our two cottages are furnished to a very high standard with a certain offbeat charm.

The character of the original farm buildings has been retained with exposed beams and stone walls but with the technology to keep you snug in the winter and cool in the summer. The underfloor heating, thick stone walls and double glazed oak windows keep the cottages warm through the coldest winter – making them enticing places to which to return after a day in the wild outdoors.

The living area has a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, TV with Netflix, DVD/Blueray player and music system with DAB radio and bluetooth. The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and a full range of cooking utensils.

The bedroom has a superking bed or two singles, depending on your requirements. The en suite bathroom has underfloor heating and a shower with plentiful hot water.

There is a patio area with a BBQ, a garden area with seating and access to our grounds, where you can use the fire pit or just sit and stare at the beautiful Berwyn mountains.

There is private parking, secure bicycle storage, bike wash facilities and a laundry which also has a shared freezer. We provide bed linen and towels.

Please see our listing for 'Ty Beic Holiday Apartments - The Barn' for information about our other cottage.

Accès des voyageurs

The Stable has a patio area with a BBQ and table and chairs and a private field with seating. All guests have access to the large field in front of the cottages where they can use the fire pit or just sit and stare at the stunning views.

Autres remarques

Ty Beic is on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and is the perfect base to explore North Wales.

We are approximately 30 minutes drive from the mountain bike centres of Coed y Brenin, Llandegla, Antur Stiniog, Revolution Bike Park, One Giant Leap and the ClimachX, Marin and Penmachno MTB trails. The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery, epic climbs and exhilarating descents on the doorstep.

Snowdon is a pleasant and scenic 40 minute drive away. Aran, the highest British mountain south of Snowdon, is a 15 minute drive and Cadair Idris about 30 minutes. Away from the honey pots of Snowdonia, there are also spectacular walks in the Berwyn mountain range.

In a secluded spot overlooking some wonderful views. Lovely and quiet but with easy access to the nearby A road. The cottage has been beautifully created by Richard and Karen and is warm and comfortable. A really comprehensive information folder with all you need to know about the local area included. A perfect spot for those who enjoy all the outdoors have to offer.

We loved our stay at the Karen's place. The cottage was clean and cosy, with everything we could need for our stay. Karen was friendly and helpful, and provided us with maps of the local area and of Snowdonia National Park to help us plan each day. A definite highlight was being greeted by their lovely dog Jac shortly after arriving with plenty of wet kisses! The cottage is in the perfect location for exploring North Wales, with lakes, waterfalls, and mountains within an hour's drive. We only stayed for 2 nights but managed to visit Lake Vyrnwy and the surrounding waterfalls, and climb Snowdon. We will definitely be back next time we want to explore North Wales!

A traditional Welsh slate and stone stable-cottage uniquely designed by its owners to reflect the natural surroundings. Our stay was totally comfortable to modern-days standards yet we felt in harmony with our beautiful rural surroundings.

This is a fantastic location to enjoy getting away from it all and taking in all that this very beautiful area has to offer. The Stable is fantastic with everything you need after a day of outdoor activities. The walking straight out of the door is breathtaking and with Bala less than 10 minutes drive away to pick up provisions, this cosy accommodation could not be better for two plus a dog. Karen and Richard really have thought about what guests will need and are down to earth and inspiring hosts. Thank you..
