Renting an apartment is different from staying in a hotel. Guests are staying in a private building with other tenants – which implies some unwritten rules, some of them not so intuitive.
There are 2 main issues: limiting overall noise levels and being quiet at certain hours (especially due to jet lag). Keep voice low in the staircases namely when checking in or out, take off shoes at night to prevent foot step noise, limit children "run and jump all over", open sofa gently, and last but not least when having dinner a 3 AM cause of jetlag, think of neighbors :-) Thank you in advance on their behalf.
For rentals that are longer than 28 days, an extra cleaning fee and utility expenses will be charged prorate of stay length and season.
I am used to interacting with guests as I own various apartments in Paris. I also travel extensively.
I am 52. I am an engineer, studied physics and chemistry. I travelled extensively all over the world , from US, Canada, to China, Taiwan, Australie... I did my MBA at INSEAD. I then managed worldwide businesses. Tired of having to follow stockholders' tiranny, I started up my own company in 2007.
I live in Paris Montmartre with my family , a real village in Paris and love it. Never use the phone to meet my friends ; simply go down for a café and always meet one of them. Ever lived this in a huge city like paris ?.
I started renting my apts in 2000. I advertise on and have probably received more than 5000 guests by now. Airbnb brings the guest experience to the best level by making the process so streamlined. I love it.
