Little Lodge is a great location for history buffs and people who enjoy outdoor activities. The property is secluded - very private. There is a hiking trail at the rear of the property which leads to the Appalachian Trail - caution - this is a strenuous trail. Once you reach the AT, you can hike to Washington Monument State Park where you can enjoy wonderful views of the valley below. Be sure to visit the Boonesborough History Museum on Main Street! The house was very well-maintained and clean and comfortable.

Our family really enjoyed our getaway at the Little Lodge. The location was private but close to so many things and the owner has a great list of local recommendations. We spent a 1/2 day in nearby Harpers Ferry and ate most meals at the Lodge. Would definitely recommend this property and stay again.

My boys and I spent a few beautiful days at this quaint cabin. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. The house was filled with almost everything we needed and we felt very welcomed by Mike. My boys are already asking when we can go back.

This place is really everything you want in a quiet cabin on the mountain - all wood interior (smells great!) and rustic touches along with all the essential comforts plus a nice TV, good cable, and wi-fi. We brought our Roku stick which worked great. The covered porch is really pleasant to hang out on. The upstairs bedroom can be closed for privacy a bit like a Civil War tent! The dining table view gives you a peak of the valley below and a short trek up thru a scenic mountain meadow rewards you with an expansive view of the valley. Woods surround the cabin so while you have neighbors, you won't be seeing them during your stay. And of course, you can leave and explore the surrounding recreation areas, wineries etc., but you might find yourself truly unwinding and unwilling to leave your secluded cabin in the woods.

The cabin was everything we were looking for. It is charming and private. Also, it is close to beautiful trails and Harpers Ferry. We had a great weekend and would definitely stay there again.

I am a native Floridian who relocated to DC over twenty years ago. I love this place which has been described as the "Greenest big city in the U.S." . I am an avid nature lover and savor living next to the Potomac River, also known as "the wildest urban river in the world." We live just minutes from Great Falls, with world class kayaking and ferocious rapids. When we are not enjoying city life in our Nation's Capitol, we relax at our mountain retreat an hour away in Boonsboro, MD. We enjoy welcoming guests from around the world into our homes and look forward to meeting you.
