I offered to pick up the guests from our local train station, and I met them at the station within 5 minutes of them informing me of their arrival. I had asked them to text me as soon as they arrived at the train station. I am sorry that they did not have a local sim card and did not know how to use the railway wifi to communicate with me.
We were having heat wave conditions during their arrival, so we were happy to have the guests use the air conditioning. however, they went out and left the air conditioner on all day while there was no one in the room which is a waste of electricity. I had advised them when they arrived that we expect guests to turn off the air conditioning when they go out, but they did not follow this rule for guests. I am sorry that they felt I was a "suspicious host". I thought I had just politely reminded them of the rules for guests which are printed off and available to read for all guests. The guests did not have good English and I think they did not understand some of my communication in my Australian accent.
