A spacious and private cottage with open plan living, lots of natural light, its own deck and garden, shared pool, and plenty of bird life on over 1 acre of trees and greenery. Located on a quiet cul de sac, the property has great ocean and mountain views (greenery view only from cottage).
Please note that there is a drought in Cape Town and the pool and some garden areas are not being watered (Dec 2016-)! This may affect pool availability.
As we have a number of our own animals around, we can't allow pets. Also no smoking in or outside. You're welcome to have visitors over for meals and during the day. We are in a residential area (despite it not feeling like that when you are on the property) so please try to keep noise limited after 10pm.
Please leave the cottage clean and let us know if anything has been broken or needs to be replaced. We will provide you with a key and a remote, please make sure the driveway gate closes after entering/leaving.
I'm a Northern Californian who has been based in Cape Town for my entire adult life. I love the mountains, oceans, and vibe of my adopted home and spend most of my leisure time hiking, trail running, and mtb with my dogs, friends, and husband. I'm starting to expand my horizons to include the sea and am taking on casual surfing and paddling.
At home, I'm busy turning our land into a place for chickens, veggies, fruit trees, and bees. It all sounds rather hippie-ish but I don't think I/we fit that stereotype. Indoor and work time is primarily spent on a social enterprise generator with its first venture being in the world of vocational training (how to sustainably get people into employment).
My favourite trips are those where I get to see real, normal, life and meet a range of people in places off the beaten path. Throw in a bit of bike touring or hiking and life is great.
