Stylish period penthouse apartment located in trendy New Town, 10 minutes walk to Princes Street and amazing views of the city. Close to all travel links, shops, bars and restaurants. My apartment is really spacious and very quiet, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and lots of living space. Royal Crescent is one of the best residential streets, the street is quiet with very little through traffic so it is very peaceful. It is suitable for families with kids or business travellers.
This is a traditional Edinburgh home, built around 1850. It has maintained many of the original features such as the fireplace and cornicing. It is a great location for exploring Edinburgh’s World Heritage sites of the Old and New Town. It is not far from the home of Robert Louis Stevenson or Scotland Street as described in Alexander McCall Smith’s novels. As well as there being many historic connections to the area, there is a wonderful range of excellent independent shops. Broughton Street is just round the corner and is where the locals go and tourists might miss. The area has great restaurants, bars and cafes too.
The apartment is furnished to match its character with traditional pieces and decor but has all the modern conveniences too. The main bedroom has a large comfortable double bed with brass ends, and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a three quarter bed and so does the the 3rd bedroom, both being of an old Scottish size and perfect for one but very cozy for two. The street is quiet and very little traffic passes so it is peaceful at night.
The living room is large and comfortable with lots of natural light. The kitchen has all the modern appliances you would expect, washing machine, microwave etc and all the utensils are there if you wish to cook at home any evening when you are not heading out to sample the local cuisine.
A hair dryer. ironing board, towels, linen, and wifi are in the apartment and are included in the rental. There is on street parking which is only free from Friday evening to Monday morning.
A car isn’t essential to stay here as most places are within easy walking distance and the local bus service is excellent if you wish to go further afield. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no lift.
