Description
Description

Our 136m² flat is located in the multicultural district of Oberbilk,1/2way to the main station and public gardens.Your room has approx.30m² with high ceiling and beautiful stucco; equipped with antique&modern furniture.

The room has high ceilings which is decorated with beautiful stucco, as is the rest of the flat. There is a beautiful heater with floral decor suiting the character of this old building and also a new modern heater. In the middle of the room there is a wooden dining table. On the left side there is a bed and clothes rack. At the right side there is a sofa bed plus table plus speakers for a music device. You will also find a hair dryer and towels.

There is free wifi access throughout the whole flat.

Kitchen with balcony:
Please feel free to use the kitchen if you like to cook, and make use of the fridge, the washing machine and tumble dryer, watch TV or simply chat with us. If you like to smoke, catch some fresh air or sun, please make yourself comfortable on our little green balcony.

1.5 Bathrooms:
The main bathroom has a toilet and a bathtub with shower. There also a guest toilet.

Tim and I live in the flat and you will be sharing our kitchen and bath rooms. If you like to go for run, please join us on Sundays on our 7-10km run through the Volksgarten (800m distance to home).

Our flat is in the heart of Oberbilk, a multicultural destrict which is slowly developing into a trendy area: For breakfast, lunch or a coffee break we highly recommend the little coffee bar "alex.t." in Ellerstraße 219. The coffee tastes phenomenal and the food is fantastic especially the cakes. For dinner you could go to the Italian restaurant "Trattoria Via Appia" in Flügelstraße 56 who have very friendly staff. For a drink at night and if you enjoy live music you can visit the very cosy bar "Die Kassette" in Flügelstraße 58. All three recommendations are 5 minutes walk from home.

If you would like to visit a concert whilst in Düsseldorf, take a look at Zack (13 min walk from home), Mitsubishi Electric Halle (15 min walk) and Tonhalle. The city of Köln (Cologne) has even more concerts on offer. It takes 30min by train to reach Cologne (plus a 10min walk to the train station).

If you would like to leave the city behind and visit the green side of Oberbilk, it's just a 10min walk to the "Volksgarten" (public gardens). We visit the park every Sunday to go for a run - do feel free to join us. If you like slacklining, you are welcome to use our equipment.

From Oberbilk you could walk to the centre of Düsseldorf, for example to the famous Königsstraße, in just 25 minutes. If you go by tram U74, U77 or U79 you get to Heinrich-Heine (centre) in just 13 minutes (4 stops).

If you like to watch movies, Düsseldorf has a fanastic offer of small cinemas with living room atmosphere like Bambi, Metropol, Atelier and the Cinema.

In the summer time, grab a beer or similar from one of the many kiosks, sit down at the Rhein and watch the ships pass by. The skyline of Düsseldorf is beautiful especially on Japan Day with its amazing fireworks.

Airport - home:
From the airport there are two options to get home. The easiest one is to take the bus 721. It takes 30-40 minutes and stops at our front door.
The second option is by train S11. The walk from the airport to the main station takes 15 min. From the main station it's a 10min walk to our flat.

Home-city:
From Oberbilker Markt you take the tram U74, U77 or U79 until Heinrich-Heine. There are 4 stops and it takes about 20 min (5 min walk to Oberbilker Markt and 13 min by tram).

Home-fair:
At the front door the bus 722 stops and brings you directly in 30-40 min to the fair. The stop is called Messe-Center.

Our flat is located on a junction. The kitchen faces towards the inner court yard and all other rooms face the road, meaning you may hear street noises from both the bedroom and lounge.
