Located on a scenic hillside, this cottage gives incredible views of distant Broken Point Mountain and other mountains close to the Chimney Rock area. 8,000 ft. Mount Wilson sits close by. The San Juan National Forest wraps around the property, providing wonderful views and miles of hiking trails through rugged and beautiful mountain country.
We discovered the piece of land in Pagosa Springs in 2007 and fell in love with the spot. We love rugged, natural out-in-the-woods country, and that's what this spot offers. We didn't want the feel of a neighborhood, with mowed lawns and neighbors just over a fence. We wanted to be out where we could really feel like mountain folks...where real Colorado people lived. We built the cottage on the property during 2010 and 2011, and just completed little finish items during the summer of 2012. We love spending time there; it's a little bit of heaven there for us, partly because of the wonderful climate and partly because it truly is a peaceful, natural woodsy retreat for us to escape to.

Cottage contains king-size bed in master upstairs bedroom, queen bed in one of downstairs bedrooms, queen sleeper sofa in the other downstairs bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, with two inflatable rubber single beds.
There are three parking areas, with space for 4-5 autos. In winter a four-wheel drive is recommended, as the drive is somewhat steep. Recent guests who stayed there in the snow simply parked in the lower part of the drive and said they did fine, but a four-wheel drive will let you drive on up to the top level by the cabin.
Call us if you have other questions. Our caretakers Chris and Lisa live just a short distance from the cottage, and they're great to help if you need anything.
The front door has a keypad; I'll give you the code when we talk by telephone.
