The hermitage is a secluded, off-the-grid cabin, simply furnished with limited amenities for reflection and solitude. Fox Haven offers porches with sweeping views and cozy quarters for digital detox, writing, conversing, and retreating into nature.
Fox Haven Hermitage is an off-the-grid cabin with no running water or electricity. Intended for retreating into simple-living, we offer 2 single beds (you bring sheets and towels), a drop-leaf table, 2 chairs, plus a rocking chair. Read by the light of the oil lamp, or keep a pot of soup warm on the wood stove. We offer a camping stove as well as dishes, tea kettle, can opener, etc. We supply drinking and washing water for use during your stay. The cabin is one open room with a loft; the odorless composting toilet is separated by a curtain. A bowl wash basin is set up for washing dishes, hands, etc.

The 64-acre retreat property is laced with hiking trails. Enjoy birdwatching, roaming, and rejuvenation in the natural space. Three creeks meander through the woods and converge on picturesque rock formations. There is rustic back country fire-pit, perfect for stargazing. Guests may also use the picnic shelter and fire pit, based on availability.

Upon your arrival, you will park in the designated area. A greeter will meet you and assist you in any way you need. The cabin is a refreshing 1/4-mile hike into the woods from the parking area.
We allow no pets of any kind on the premises. No smoking is allowed on the property. Open loft and central wood stove make it unsafe for children. Maximum 2 person occupancy at all times.
