À propos de ce logement
Welcome! Your private suite includes a cozy cottage-style bedroom, adjoining bathroom and separate den to relax, watch Netflix, and make snacks - in a quiet neighbourhood on Lake Ontario. You will be close to Highway 401, GO trains and buses to/through the city. Restaurants and other conveniences are also nearby. It's perfect all year for business travelers and sight-seeing in Toronto. It's also great for weekend nature getaways: the Park, scenic lakeside walks and biking trails are at the door.
A front-door entry and private vaulted staircase with skylight lead up to the suite: a pine paneled bedroom, a bathroom with shower and den where you will find a comfortable couch, lap desk, fireplace, WIFI, TV, cable, HDMI, Netflix and a mini-kitchenette to prepare snacks and light meals. The small fridge is stocked with breakfast foods, a kettle, coffee maker, toaster-oven, dishes, cutlery and glasses - everything you might need - whether you're here on business, passing through, or spending some relaxing getaway time near the lake.
There is limited ability to wash up dishes, glasses and cutlery, so, if you wish, we will clean and replace used items as needed -- like hotel room service :)
If you like dogs, there are usually two or more friendly four-legged fur babies in the host's residence next door. If you'd like to meet them, just let us know :). If dogs aren't your cup of tea -- don't worry: Your suite is completely separate, air filtered and kept pet-free.
Driveway parking is included. There is also a secure garage to store bicycles if you are making a stop on your way along the Waterfront Trail.
Accès des voyageurs
Like a hotel, once you have checked in, you will be able to come and go through the front door and your separate entrance. The key to the locking bedroom will be provided to you at check-in. Seasonally, and for stays longer than 3 days, you will have access to the kayaks, fishing rods, bicycles, folding chairs for the beach, cooler and beach towels upon request and with advance notice.
We are flexible with check-in after 2:00 pm (15:00) but if you expect to arrive after 10:00 pm (22:00) or if our circumstances require it, we may ask you to "self check-in" and we will give you easy instructions to do that.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Like a hotel, once you have checked in we can be available as much or as little as you need us ;) Someone will usually be home to accommodate any on-site requests and answer any questions, and we are always available by text, phone, email and app. If you have any concerns during your stay, please let us know so we can address them promptly.
Please note there are friendly family dogs in the adjoining residence, so you may occasionally hear them say "hello" :) If you enjoy dogs as much as we do, and want to meet them, please let us know when you arrive.
There is limited ability to wash up dishes, glasses and cutlery, so, if you wish, we will replace used items as needed. Place used items on the tray provided and leave it on the entry bench -- like room service :)
If you order food delivery, please instruct the driver to text you upon arrival (tell them not to ring the bell).
When checking out, please leave used towels in the shower, any used dishes on the bench, but don't worry about making the bed!
There are always 2 (and often more) friendly family dogs in the hosts' residence. We do our best to maintain a generally peaceful atmosphere, but there may be unpredictable times of general doggie excitement.
For personal comfort, an air filter, fan and heater are available in your suite.
Towels and bed linen are always clean and fresh. Pillows and mattress are steam-cleaned regularly. A variety of pillows, quilts, duvets and throws are available to suit every season and temperature.
Accessories are provided for the kayak and bikes. You may need a car to transport the kayaks to the river.
There is one flight of stairs, 14 carpeted steps divided by a landing.
The gabled loft means you need to watch your head in one part of the bedroom. We will point it out.
The key for the bedroom hangs on the pegs beneath the shelf in the bedroom.

We are Nancy and Paul, semi-retired professionals and dog-lovers. Our kids are getting older and we're starting to travel more -- to see the kids and the world. When we're not dog-minding, we're fixing up our dream home on the Rouge River near Toronto and planning travel. We love quiet walks with the dogs by the lake, curling up with a good book, listening to music and feasting on our latest favourite Netflix series with a bowl of buttered popcorn. We also enjoy going to concerts and seeing live music. Our motto would be: Good things happen to good people...
