Alison is a friendly and kind host. She was outside when I got there and helped me find the parking when it was late at night. After giving me a tour of the place, she recommended local restaurants and gave me directions to them. The room was very clean. The bed was made when I got there. There was good lighting, plenty of outlets, and access to Wi-Fi. Blankets and towels were provided. There are lots of labels everywhere to help guide you. The shower had hot water and a shampoo/soap dispenser. Overall it was a great stay and a bargain for its quality and location.

This was my first stay at a hostel and Alison communicated the fair rules of the house clearly. She made check-in and check-out smooth processes and was available if I had questions. There's parking on the premises and all linens are provided more. The rooms and beds were clean and organized. The Shenandoah Valley National Park is a quick 20 minute drive from Alison's hostel. It was a fun experience and it was enjoyable meeting and speaking with the other hostel guests.

If you're coming to visit Shenandoah National Park this is the place you need to stay! Alison is such a welcoming host and her passion for Luray and the area is evident. The area itself is quiet and southern, it's definitely more about the nature than the night life, but there is local food and Alison has a fire pit as well. I felt relaxed and at home during my whole stay. I can not speak highly enough about Alison and her ability to create a peaceful, comfortable home.

We are a newly opened hostel close to the Shenandoah National Park and Appalachian Trail. Open Arms is my home and is a shared-space facility that is pet friendly for well-behaved dogs. Please note that we have three indoor/outdoor cats who think they own the place. Our hope is to offer a relaxed place to rest and rejuvenate.
