It is three miles from Downtown Los Gatos and resides on a five-acre property in a lovely country setting. After a full day of touring you can come back to lounge by the pool, have a swim, take a spa or just relax.
Los Gatos is a town in Northern California nestled in the foothills west of San Jose and has a wonderful downtown area with many restaurants and shops. The town prides itself on retaining its 'early California' feel with many of its original Craftsman and Victorian-style homes. There are many walking, hiking, and biking trails right at your doorstep as well as in and around town.
The guest house was built and designed with every comfort in mind. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The dining table seats four and up to eight people when expanded. There is a television with DirecTV, DVD Player, VCR along with a Stereo with CD player. It is 650 square feet that 'live big' with 17 foot high ceilings. It has beautiful hardwood floors throughout and lots of glass to take in the beautiful California Oaks on the property... We've had some guest say with the shades up they feel like they are in a big tree house!
The guest house is a freestanding unit that sits over the garage & is connected to the owners main house by a breezeway, The property itself is 5 wooded acres with a barn & corral, The guest house is 'California Lodge' style & is comfortably furnished, very 'Pottery Barn'. All bed linens and towels are provided. The Guest house has a Full Kitchen with Dining adjacent to Living Area, First Bedroom with Queen bed, Second Bedroom with 2 twins & Full Bath with shower (Pool Bathroom is available downstairs as a secondary Bathroom), Front door of guest house leads to a private deck with outdoor table & chairs that overlook the pool. There is also a Hotspring Spa! There is a Thermador Grill on the pool deck for afternoon/evening barbecuing.
Kid and Pet friendly, you will be within walking distance to many hiking/biking trails, Bel Gatos Park and numerous parks where pets are welcome. Pet fee of $150 - please inquire prior to booking.

With this central location you are 3 miles to San Jose, 25 miles to Santa Cruz, 70 miles to Monterey & Carmel as well as just 55 miles to San Francisco, The local area has much to offer, Villa Montalvo in Monte Sereno & The Mountain Winery in Saratoga has its concert series which run spring through fall, There are many local area wineries which are open for tours & tasting such as David Bruce, Cinnabar, Kathryn Kennedy & Testarossa to name a few, Our local redwoods are just over the hill at Big Basin State Park as well as the ocean, beach & Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, Located just 15 miles from San Jose International & 43 miles from San Francisco International. RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS: This reservation will be held for 24 hours from verbal reservation confirmation pending receipt of email confirmation of the reservation. Upon receipt of email confirmation this reservation will be held for five days pending receipt of the following:
a) signed contract
b) Payment through Airbnb
If the RENTER does not show up or leaves early, the RENTER is responsible for the balance of rent for the full term of the contract unless the house is rented. OWNER reserves the right to cancel this agreement in the event of an emergency or unforeseen event. Someone 21 years of age or older must register and accept responsibility for the condition of the house.
CONDITIONS: I understand my responsibility as occupant and accept financial burden for any damages to MacBeth Properties location 14205 Shannon Rd., Los Gatos, CA 95032 (MacBeth Properties) caused by me or any member of my party. By signing below, I agree to pay the OWNERS for repairs to MacBeth Properties in the event damages are caused by us during our stay; and I agree to pay replacement value for any items, which are broken or lost, to theft during my stay. Such damages will be reported to the RENTER in writing by the OWNERS.
Please observe the following rules in order to make your stay more pleasant: This property is privately owned, and the management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
If RENTER arrives with more people in their party than the house allows, NO ONE will be permitted to enter the house, and NO REFUND will be issued. The law makes it a crime to defraud the innkeeper, and having more people in the house than have registered is included in the provisions of this code. The special use permit issued to MacBeth Properties allows for a maximum of four (4) overnight occupants at any one time. ADDITIONAL overnight guests above the four (4) maximum must be arranged for in advance, and will be charged an additional pro-rated rate.
Property should be left in the same condition as upon move-in. You will be responsible to leave the dishes, utensils, and appliances clean. All trash is to be disposed in the garbage bins provided outside.
Gas, water, and electricity are included in your rental fee. Telephone is available for local calls, but all long distance telephone charges must be charged to tenant’s long distance calling card.
NOT ALLOWED: PARTIES AND GUESTS are not allowed. RENTER agrees that the guesthouse will not be used for gatherings or entertaining (e.g., friends and family, football parties, family Thanksgiving dinners, Memorial Day Party, etc). Any GUESTS, PARTIES OR GATHERINGS must be arranged for in advance and will be charged an additional fee based on the number of people and duration ($250 minimum).
No illegal substances are allowed on the property. Violation of the ban on loud parties or illegal substances will be grounds for owner or owner’s agent to require RENTER to immediately leave the house and forfeit any rent or security deposit.
Hookup or occupation of any MOTOR HOME, TRAILER or CAMPER is not allowed.
NO PETS are allowed in the guesthouse unless pre-arranged per contract. ($150 minimum)
NO SMOKING is permitted in the guesthouse, if you must smoke please do so outside.
To ensure the overall quality and appearance of MacBeth Properties, these policies are strictly enforced.
Violation of any of the above may result in forfeiture of the security deposit and/or additional charges.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: RENTER agrees to indemnify and save OWNER harmless from all liability, loss or damage arising from any nuisance or harm made or suffered on the premises by the RENTER, tenants, or guests or from any carelessness, neglect, or improper conduct of any persons entering, occupying or visiting the premises.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel with 30 days notice, you receive the whole deposit back. If less than 30 days, return of deposit will be contingent on ability to rent your reserved time to another party.
TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY USE NOTICE
I, ______________________, having registered as occupant of MacBeth Properties for the nights XXX through XXX (X night rental) declare under penalty of perjury that not more than 4 people will be using MacBeth Properties for overnight sleeping purposes on those nights. I declare that I have read the above provisions and that I sign this declaration with the full knowledge and understanding of the consequences of any violation of the laws noted above.

My husband and I love this area, it is close to everything, but it feels like you are a world away. We enjoy our 'retreat' that we share with our menagerie of animals - 2 horses, 4 dogs and 2 cats. We both work full time but love to come home at the end of the day to our little oasis. We have a 5 acre property in Los Gatos, CA with a Guesthouse over our garage that we have been renting as a vacation property for the past 10+ years. It is cozy and comfortable - I think you would really enjoy your stay with us!
