Charming, private attic suite in the heart of the hip Cooper-Young neighborhood, with lots of space to stretch out. Comfortably sleeps four with queen and full beds. Includes a private living area with TV and sofa, and private full bathroom with clawfoot tub. Enjoy your own minifridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker, plus access to shared laundry and dining room. Relax and enjoy a drink on the shady downstairs porch swing. Easily walkable to great Midtown restaurants, bars, and shops.
Welcome to the huge, charming, and airy top floor of my 1918 Victorian home, a roomy finished attic with sloped ceilings and great light, fully and comfortably furnished with vintage finds and local artwork!
You'll be renting the entire top floor of the house. Come on in through the shared main house entrance--then head upstairs to your private space! The roomy suite has two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, the other with a full-sized bed), a living area with sofa and TV, and a full bathroom. The door to the stairs locks for extra privacy. (Please note that if you have trouble with stairs, this space may not be best for you.)
The upstairs living room joins the two bedrooms and includes a well-stocked bookshelf, a Roku-enabled "smart" TV, a comfortable, adorable vintage floral sofa, and your very own minifridge, microwave oven, and fully stocked Keurig coffee maker.
Also upstairs is your private bathroom, with clawfoot tub. Please note that the tub is great for soaking, but you must step over the side to get in. Also, because of the sloped walls, the shower is a little short. I hope the newly updated shower head will make up for that!
Your suite includes a minifridge and microwave oven, and you are also welcome to use the downstairs shared kitchen, located at the back of the house. The shared kitchen includes refrigerator, vintage 1950s stove, and all cooking tools and utensils. Guests are also welcome to use the laundry room, dining room, and front porch.
Memphis is a train town, and the house is located five blocks from railroad tracks, so you might hear the whistle as a train passes through at night. I've provided disposable ear plugs in case you need them--please help yourself!
Renting the suite for a shoot: If you are interested in renting the suite for a photo or video shoot, please note that the rate will be different. Please do not book for a shoot without contacting me first.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will rent the entire top floor of the house, which includes two bedrooms, living area, and bathroom (please do not enter the closed storage closets). Downstairs, make yourself at home in the kitchen, laundry room, and dining room and on the excellent front porch.

I work from home, so I'm often home during the day and will do my best to meet you when you arrive. When I'm not working, I love chatting with guests when we cross paths in the house; if you prefer your privacy, that is also fine! Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything, have any questions, or would like any Memphis recommendations.
My five-year-old daughter shares the downstairs space with me. The attic suite is pretty well soundproofed from the downstairs, but please be respectful of her bedtime (around 8 pm) while using the downstairs spaces. Thank you!
We have a big orange cat named Friend, and he is very friendly, as his name implies! :) Please do not let him go outside, no matter how nicely he asks! If you would prefer that Friend not enter the upstairs suite, please be sure to shut and lock the door at the foot of the stairs.
If you are booking during the summer, please note that, despite our hard-working and newly installed air conditioner, it can get warm in the upstairs suite during the hottest parts of the hottest days. It should always cool off in the suite by early evening, and nights are always very cool and comfortable. I have provided fans to help out with the temperatures during the day.
Check-in is at or after 3 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon, but this is flexible. Let me know if you'd like to make other arrangements!
Please keep the front door locked at all times. You will be issued one key. When you are home, please only lock the top lock of the front door--please do not lock the bottom lock, because you might lock me out! The back yard gate should remain closed at all times.
No smoking indoors, please! You may smoke on the front porch using the ashtrays.
Please do not invite other guests to our home without advance notice.
Please do not use the downstairs bathroom or enter the downstairs bedrooms.
No pets, please. Please note that a cat (named Friend) does live here as well! He is mostly an indoor cat, so please do not let him outside, no matter how nicely he asks. :)
When checking out, you may leave sheets and towels in place.
If I am not home when you check out, please lock the door and replace the key in the front door lock box (please DO NOT put the key through the mail slot).
A note on (very) young guests: Babies and children are our welcome guests, but please be sure to supervise them while in the suite. In particular, the window shades and blinds seem to be very tempting for children. They are cordless, so they are safe and won't harm your child, but they are also prone to damage with rough use. I will request compensation via Airbnb for any damage that occurs during your stay. Thanks for your understanding!
I'm a Memphis transplant going on 11 years in this fair city! I've been hosting on Airbnb for almost two years and truly enjoy meeting new people from around the globe. I work full-time in scientific publishing and also buy for and help manage a brick-and-mortar vintage shop, FOUND Memphis. I'm mother to the best daughter in the world and in my bits of spare time love to read, run, and eat great food.
