Okay, so I've been doing this about eleven months now. I'm proud to have become a SuperHost in that time, and that I've had the chance to meet a number of great people. I know that number is will continue to grow and I am excited for what's to come.
Each guest has provided valuable feedback that helped me improve the experience of the next guest.
It's those first few brave souls that took a chance on my place before it had any reviews that are the real heroes!
Okay, so in the past few months, what'd I learn?
People like to read about amenities, but rarely use them. I thought my Coffee Maker was going to be a hit... It's only been used once! I'm going to keep some ground coffee beans in the cupboard to hopefully get some more use out of it.
The iron and ironing mat haven't even been touched. I thought those items would be a lifesaver for somebody! Maybe that day will come. Until then, they'll remain tucked all alone in the closet.
Most important item: High Speed Wifi
Second most important, Cleanliness (Okay maybe it's a tie, but don't kid yourself). I used to handle all of the cleaning personally. This made for some long nights, and stressful week days balancing work and guest turnover. Plus, I don't clean for a living, so it took me twice as long as somebody who knows what they are doing. I use a cleaning service now and I'm glad to have made the switch.
What I'm adding:
Shower Stuff: I now keep Body Wash and Shampoo in the shower. I didn't do this at first, because I thought it'd be hard to make everyone happy. Now I know it's more about the thought as opposed to actually having the right stuff.
What do I refuse to get:
Cable: I'll always give you access to the Netflix account, but Cable is where I draw the line!
There is a dog next door which will bark when your make noise outside the door. He's silent when you're in the apartment, but has a deep loud bark that can surprise you when not prepared. I've met the dog and it's really nice, but his bark has made me jump a few times walking up the stairs to the apartment.

I'll always be just a phone call or text away for anything your heart desires!
Free street parking on 3 sides of building. The main street is metered parking during the day, free overnight. No meters on Sunday's or National Holidays.
It's an apartment, so just respect that others live close by.
You can smoke outside in the court yard, please not in the apartment.
I stumbled on Airbnb and few years back and was intrigued by the concept, but it took a few months before I could convince my girlfriend to try it out on our next vacation. We rented a small studio apartment in Miami on South Beach and had an amazing time. We loved the freedom compared to a traditional hotel and knew we had to open our space to travelers like you in NYC. I'm excited we're finally able to serve you and look forward to making you happy!
