Our biggest bedroom features a beautiful antique cypress Queen size bed and lots of plush pillows for cuddling. A book lover's dream, with a 60" TV, mini fridge, large private marble bathroom and private balcony.
Located in the heart of the Garden District, the Parks-Bowman Mansion is a classic example of the good life in New Orleans. Shaded by palm trees and a live oak, the deep porches on all three levels tempt you to rest and relax. The soaring center hall leads visitors to a carved cypress staircase ascending to the very top of the house, lit by stained-glass windows and massive chandeliers. There’s a music room, a formal dining room, a “ladies parlor,” and a fully appointed kitchen where you can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee in the morning. Outside, a lovely garden surrounds a back porch for lounging and a full size lap-pool.
There are three rooms available. This listing is for the Library. Please look for our other listings: the Red Room and the Haunted Bedroom.
The Library features a Queen size antique cypress bed and a private shower with travertine marble and hand-held spray. The second floor porch with seating is right outside. The Library has its own wide-screen TV and all rooms have internet access and mini fridges. The Library is close to the Red Room and makes a great double-booking.
Our dogs (Moxie and Loebie) look forward to greeting you at the front gate, and while you may not see our two cats (they mostly stay in our portion of the house) sometimes they sneak out for a visit. Our house is furnished with our extensive art collection, which we’ve acquired in over thirty-five years of travel. Oh, and a little bit about us: Adrienne Parks-Bowman is a novelist and screen-writer, and Bill Bowman is a documentary film-maker, music producer, and web designer.
We can’t wait to share our house with you, and introduce you to the city we know and love so well. We’re right near Lafayette Cemetery, Commander’s Palace, the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, and the shopping and dining pleasures of Magazine Street. There’s plenty of secure parking on our quiet street, and if you come for Mardi Gras, you’ll be just steps away from the parades! Come visit us and make us your home-away-from-home in New Orleans!

We have two dogs who go in and out as they please, and two cats who stay in our portion of the house. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood, so no loud noises late at night. We have lots of fragile art in the house, so we can't accommodate very YOUNG children. Sorry, but we can't accommodate more than two people in each room.
Smoking is allowed outside, and we have plenty of balconies!
