À propos de ce logement

This is a fully equipped log duplex on a dead end road. The neighborhood is a small oasis of woods and quiet on a bit of land surrounded by the Beluga Slough on one side and Kachemak Bay on the other. It has a full kitchen and bath, comfortable queen size bed, washer/dryer, cable TV and high speed internet. You can walk down to the slough to go birding or use one of our bikes to ride to town or the spit.

Le logement

This is a log home on a small wooded peninsula of land between the slough and Kachemak Bay- right in the heart of Homer. You can use my two bikes to ride to the beach or ride to the end of the Spit or into town!
At low tide you can walk across to Old Town or the Kachemak Wildlife Reserve.

Full kitchen with electric range and full size fridge. The kitchen is equiped with pots and pans and we have an outside gas grill which you are welcome to use.

The living room has two picture windows looking out on some large spruce trees. Bald eagles nest and the Beluga Slough make for great birding.

A spiral staircase leads to the loft/bedroom which has a very comfortable Queen size silverpedic mattress and we have high speed wireless internet.

The bathroom has a full size tub and there is also a washer and dryer.

The home is on a dead end road so it is very quiet with lots of birds. I've lived in Homer since 1986 and can suggest many lovely hikes or other activities.

Accès des voyageurs

You will have full use of kitchen and laundry.
I also have two bikes which you are welcome to use.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

I've lived in Homer for almost 30 years and can make suggestions of where to go and what to do, but I also respect your privacy. This summer I'll be traveling myself but my husband will be on hand to answer questions....or he might invite you to play pickle ball!

Great little place... It is really in a convenient location to the airport, restaurants on the spit and everything else in town. We would highly recommend this home.

This was a very modern and convenient half of what appears to be a new duplex cabin. Very convenient to beach, shopping and Homer sights. Also I believe a very good value. Highly recommend.. Bob

Laura's Log home was our favorite Airbnb in Alaska. It was by far the most spacious of our accommodations. Laura was not able to meet us, but she had Liz greet us and show us around. There was a wonderful path across the street that led to the slough and beach. We saw Cranes and Eagles and Moose prints. The cabin was spotless and well stocked with coffee, tea, spices, and snacks. There were also bicycles, however we did not use them. We loved Homer! It was our favorite stop on the Kenai peninsula. The new brewery, Captain Patties, the Pratt Museum were a few of our favorites. If we make it back - this is where we'll be staying!

Lovely hostess, with a fully stocked house, making one feel right at home. Quiet, and full of natural sight. Eagles above, moose on the lawn. Highly recommended

Laura's home was a place I wished I could call home - it was absolutely perfect. The location was great; she had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. I loved the spiral staircase and that I could look at the trees while I was laying in bed :) I didn't get a chance to meet her because she was on another trip herself. I can't say enough about my visit to Homer and a lot of it had to do with this house - I highly recommend it and would stay here again if I ever get back to Homer. Thanks for everything!

What a great place to stay!! Extremely comfortable and well stocked with toiletries, kitchen basics (and then some), and coffee/tea (very important). All you need to bring is yourself, your clothes, and Laura's hospitality will take care of the rest. The house is stocked with guidebooks, maps, activity ideas, and even binoculars to view the eagle's nest across the street! The location is perfect, with easy trail access to the beach and just minutes from all of the town's attractions and restaurants. The well stocked kitchen gives you the option to cook dinner or prepare lunches for the day's activities. I was sad to leave Homer and Laura's place had a lot to do with it.

I am 65 years young and enjoy both the country and city and hope to continue experiencing new things and creating meaningful relationships. I love the beach and have been thrilled to find this small home from which I walk to the beach almost every day. I got married 2 years ago and stopped hosting for a while. Soon, we will both be retired and are looking forward to spending more time traveling.
We have adult children children living in Boston, Vermont and Chicago, Colorado and Alaska. My hope is to live Spring and Fall in New England, summer and winter in Alaska, with a month or two traveling every year. I have lived in Homer since 1986 and look forward to introducing folks to this great town! I will be in Boston this summer and Paul will be hosting.
He has his own profile: Paul Knight. He is mellow and his latest passion is Pickle Ball!
