I booked this home for 11 nights but only stayed for 8. Nina was easy to communicate with and very accommodating before my arrival. Even when the course I was taking was threatened to be canceled, Nina hung in there with me patiently until an agreed upon date when I was able to…

I admit that Jane's stay was the murphay's law of airbnb hosting - with a mouse on the living room, a leak from the upstairs bathroom and a break in. I am deeply sorry for these events and dealt with them immediately. These are anomalies. While I hate to bore readers with a response, I take issue with a few things mentioned in Jane's comments and feel compelled to respond as I have never had a bad review and care deeply about my renters having a satisfactory experience: 1)"the house smelled like a fish tank" - my house cleaner cleaned the house thoroughly the day before Jane's arrival. No-one - a renter or a friend has ever mentioned that the house smells like a fish tank - this is completely outrageous and I am offended at the comment - this was never mentioned to me - in fact Jane texted me that she "enjoyed my lovely home"; 2) Privately she indicated that I sort of "trapped her into feeding my fish" - I clearly indicate in my write-up in airbnb that I need this assistance from people who stay at the house - and it is very simple - a flake and a cube in the morning - lights on and off morning and night - if that is too much to ask, then definitely don't rent my house - everyone who has stayed here has gladly fed my fish; 3) the leak in the bathroom was not a gush; 4) my tenant who I hired to be on call in my absence did not assume it was Jane who shone a light in her face in a malicious way and did not call the police assuming it was Jane - my tenant was not clear who would have come down stairs as she was unaware that there was a break in and that the person who broke in was the one who went into my tenants room. My tenant called the police to report the break in - not to report Jane. Jane's write up seems to suggest that she was distrusted by the tenant which was not the case at all. 5) the pictures on airbnb accurately reflect the bed and bedroom. There is ample room for a suitcase and no-one has ever complained about the size of the room. It is very comfortable. Finally, what Jane did not mention was that I also lent her my bike to get around on. While I don't dispute the events of the mouse, the leak and the break in, I do take issue with the tone of the review. But I leave it to others to compare Jane's review with the others who have stayed at the house and make their own conclusions.
Nina made us feel very welcomed. There was a bottle of wine on the counter when we arrived and we had full access to everything in the house. If we needed anything, she told us to help ourselves. She had clean sheets for all of the beds and plenty of fresh towels to last for the …
