Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas only, as the odor tends to be absorbed into the furniture and is somewhat difficult to remove. Check-out is 11:00 AM but we are flexible depending on our booking schedules and guests flight itineraries. Lavern really is a super host. We were met on arrival and shown around the apartment and all of its amenities. Lavern then took us on a drive around the local area and gave us recommendations on where to go for food, drinks, activities etc which was extremely helpful. The apartment was spacious, clean and cosy; exactly as advertised. The apartment was situated within a 5 minute walk to all the local restaurant, bars and shops which is ideal for someone who does not know the area well. Lavern was always on hand to help with anything we needed and made it clear she was more than happy to help us with anything we would require during our stay. I would hugely recommend this apartment and host to others and will be sure to return on our next visit to the island.

Location: Great location in Holetown! A short walk to the beach and all you need is close by. Perfect! Apartment: Clean, spacious, cozy. Plenty of space for two people with everything you need. Perfect! Host: Lavern arranged a safe and reliable taxi pick-up, and waited at the apartment even when arriving late at night. We were greeted with a hug and felt treated as her private guests. Helped with island suggestions and booking of events, goes the extra mile for her guests. Perfect! Best host on the island? Norsk: Perfekt sted for et par som skal utforske Barbados! Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better host or a better location or a better place to rest my head at night. I went to Barbados with my partner, and we had an amazing time, and Laverne was the the best host we ever could have asked for. We were comfortable, we were safe, and she was extremely attentive to our needs and was able to easily answer any and all of our questions. She met us at the house upon arrival, and (as others have mentioned), drove us around Holetown showing us where to eat/drink/shop as soon as we checked in, so that we could get a feel for the place. She booked our trip on the Jammin catamaran as well. She was a wealth of knowledge. Holetown is where I'd definitely recommend people stay on the island- close to everything- beautiful beaches, cheap AND expensive restaurants, local and tourist bars... and if you're going to say in Holetown, stay with Laverne! We couldn't have asked for a more cheerful, knowledgeable host. We also recommend spending the $10USD/night on the AC. It's hot and humid in Barbados, and worth every cent.

Bylo to naprosto nepopsatelné! Krásný domeček ve skvělé, klidné lokalitě a jen pár kroků od centra města a pláží.Apartmán je plně vybavený vším, co k dovolené potřebujete. My jsme střídali vaření s naším oblíbeným Just Grillin', kde připravují skvělé ryby.Večerní posezení na terase s lahví výborného rumu, venkovní sprcha a zahradní lehátka - to vše nám ještě víc zpříjemnilo pobyt.Lavern je špičková! Provezla nás po okolí, počkala, až si nakoupíme v obchodě a dokonce nás s manželem zavezli na farmářské trhy.S takovou ochotou jsme se ještě nikdy nesetkali a až pojedeme opět na náš oblíbený Barbados, tak budeme volit pouze její apartmán.Děkujeme Lavern, bylo nám ctí tě poznat a těšíme se na další setkání.

This appartment is a great location. Very close to the beach and we also had access to a pool at the Beach House nearby. The appartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Lavern was a fantastic host. She started out by giving us a quick tour of the city, gave lots of great recommendations and she was always available to answer any questions. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing stay on the West Coast of Barbados.

First off, let me say we had a great stay at Lavern's. The apartment was very clean & had everything you needed if you wanted to dine in a few times, except the food. Lavern provides books, DVDs, cable TV & a small portable radio (I enjoyed 94.7 FM especially). Only the bedroom is air-conditioned, so you will want to spring for that if you can't stand the heat (which we couldn't). A standing fan is also available, which helps in the rest of the apartment. It was walkable to the beach, restaurants, bars, some higher- end shopping &, although not during our stay, a grocery store (it was being rebuilt at the time), & a convenience store/gas station. We both enjoyed watching the Green Monkeys run down the street every morning (they rise early, so you have to catch them on their way to work/school between 6 & 6:30 AM). The setting is generally peaceful & quiet, but you can hear some occasional traffic sounds from an adjacent road to the rear of the property at times-but it's not bad or constant, & I would definitely not let it deter you from staying at Lavern's. As a host, Lavern is top notch & was very attentive to our requests & did whatever she had to to get answers to questions, organize transportation & give general good advice. I wish I had consulted here ore sometimes while I was there. Her husband, Aveen, should also be mentioned because he was just as helpful.

Thank you for staying with us and it was great having you as our guests. As mentioned in the description, the apartments are self-catering and we do not provide food. Because the island is located in the Caribbean, it experiences a tropical climate year-round and is mostly sunny and warm (perfect for beach days). We always advise guests that air-condition is optional, as some of them prefer to use the fans to save on the air condition costs, or simply prefer to spend their vacation without the use of AC, while enjoying the island breezes. Upon requests, we allow our guests to decide on the use of the AC after the first or second night of their stay (as in this instance) to determine if it will be required. There is a ceiling fan in the living room which helps to maintain comfort. The AC unit in the bedroom can also be used for cooling the entire apartment. The grocery store was closed for renovation at the end of April 2017 and is scheduled to re-open in a few months (November 2017). This closure is beyond our control and we anticipate a timely re-opening, as we realise that a nearby supermarket is a welcomed convenience. In the interim, the supermarket's management has been very thoughtful in providing a free shuttle service to and from another branch of the supermarket, which is only ten minutes drive away. The shuttle service commenced on May 2, 2017 and we have been advising all guests of the closure, as well as providing a printed schedule for pick-ups and drop-offs by the shuttle, all during the day. There is a central meeting point for pick-ups which is five minutes walk from the apartment and the shuttle brings you directly to the apartment with your groceries. There is also a well-stocked convenience store within the Petrol Station (three minutes walk from the property), where guests can make purchases outside of the shuttle schedule. The apartments are located in a quiet, residential area and if traffic may be heard occasionally, it is generally not a major cause for concern. Our guests are our main priority and we are available to assist with queries or concerns 24 hours/day.

I was born in Guyana, South America, and moved to Barbados in 1977 at the tender age of 1 making me almost '100% 'bajan'. The casual way of life on the island, makes living here almost perfect, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love the outdoors, especially the beach, meeting people and fostering lasting relationships; I have made friends in every corner of the world during my travels and meeting visitors to the island. My family has been providing accommodation to visitors for the last 15 years in the Sunset Crest Area, and this newly renovated property is a welcomed second addition. I am sure that you will fall in love with the island as I have, and together we can create for you a memorable vacation.
