Description

This sunny suite on landscaped grounds is located on the hilltop above Governors Harbour, in a small community of homes called Governor’s Estate.

Stroll down the hill to the shops and restaurants of town, or buy fresh fish and lobster from the town dock. An 8-minute walk in the other direction takes you to French Leave Beach, the most beautiful beach on the island. Walk for miles along this sandy shore, snorkel in the gin-clear waters, and enjoy a meal or a cocktail at the beachside Beach House restaurant. If you prefer, stay at home at Peach House and sunbathe on your expansive deck with views of the ocean.

Peach House has a bright and sunny, open-plan living and dining area with French doors to a large deck. The spacious master bedroom, which also has French doors to a deck, has a king bed and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower. There is an additional half-bath off the living room.

French Leave Beach, walking distance from the house, is an idyllic, mile-long, crescent-shaped, pink-sand beach. There are only half a dozen houses on the entire length of this spectacular beach, among the most famous in the Bahamas. The surf is very mild, protected by a large reef system that parallels the shore. The water on French Leave Beach is literally crystal clear: with no rivers or streams on the island, Eleuthera’s seas are free of sediment and among the clearest in the world.

The town of Governors Harbour, at the bottom of the hill, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. The recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, hosts a weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Peach House, and experience all our island has to offer.

The kitchen is fully equipped and supplied. Kitchen appliances include a glass-topped electric range and oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and blender.

The apartment has access a laundry room with washer and dryer, shared with the downstairs apartment. Peach House is fully air-conditioned and equipped with IPOD docks, WIFI, and satellite TV with DVD.

Renter will occupy the Upstairs Suite at Peach House.

The deposit of $ will be paid by wire transfer herewith, see wire instructions below, or by credit card with Renter paying the credit card processing fee, or by (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)/VRBO e-check (US bank accounts only) with no fee.

The second installment of $ will be paid by wire transfer 60 days before check in, see wire instructions below, or by credit card with Renter paying the credit card processing fee, or by (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)/VRBO e-check (US bank accounts only) with no fee.

$500 security deposit will be paid via Paypal (or credit card) 30 days from check in for easy refundability. Owner will pay the processing fee.

Important: please tell your bank to include your name in the memo or reference, so we can tell the wire is from you.

Electricity - Owner will pay for electricity charges up to $200/week. Renter will pay for any electricity charges in excess of $200. Owner will read meter before and after stay.

Payment and Cancellations - Cancellation of or changes to your reservation must be made in writing (e-mail or fax is acceptable). If you cancel more than 90 days before your scheduled arrival, 20% of your total rental fee will be retained by the Owner and the remainder will be returned to you. If you cancel 45 to 90 days before your arrival, 50% of your total rental fee will be retained by Owner and the remainder will be returned to you. If your cancellation occurs less than 45 days before your arrival, 100% of your rental fee will be retained by Owner. No-shows, late arrivals, decrease in number of persons, or early departure for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather or illness, are non-refundable. Owner recommends trip insurance to protect Renter against loss from such events. This contract becomes binding when the rent is paid. Failure to make any rental payment when due will subject your reservation to cancellation.

Damage Security Deposit - Damage deposits are fully refundable within 21 days of your departure. Pending there is no breakage, damage, missing items, long distance calls charged to the house phone, or additional clean-up necessary due to your leaving the property excessively dirty. You hereby agree to pay the owners the cleaning or replacement costs for any and all damages to the entire property which may occur as a result of you or your guest’s occupancy, excluding normal wear and tear.

The property is fully furnished, including a complete supply of bed linens and towels. Beach towels are available. Bath towels are not to be taken to the beach. Patio furniture is not to be taken to the beach. You as the Renter, agree to take all reasonable steps to ensure that your family and other guests in your party follow the rules and regulations outlined in this document.

Capacity of House – The total number of persons allowed in the houses at any one time is restricted to the number of persons scheduled and paid for in the reservation. Changes to the number of guests must be made in writing. Additional charges may apply.

No Liability -- The owners of the house are in no way responsible for any personal injury or bodily harm that may occur on the property to any renter or their guests.

Drugs and Hazardous Materials – The renter and members of his/her group are prohibited to use or bring onto the property any illegal substances, flammable fluids, explosives or items deemed hazardous to life, limb or property.

Complaints and Maintenance: The owner will make every effort to keep the premises and inventories in good working order. In the event, there is a maintenance problem; they will strive to repair the problem as soon as possible after being notified. No refund or rate adjustment will be made for unforeseen mechanical failures such as the supply of electricity, water, pool heater/filtration systems, air conditioning, telephone, television/cable service, appliances, etc. It is the Renter’s responsibility to report any problems or damage immediately to the local property manager.

No Pets – No pets of any kind are allowed in or around the premises without written consent of the owner being granted in writing before arrival. A pet or evidence of a pet found on the premises will cause immediate eviction, and forfeiture of Guest’s entire rent and deposit.

No Smoking – Smoking is not permitted in the house.

This document becomes a binding agreement only when your rental deposit is received. Please sign and return this document by email or fax.
