Bienvenue!

Experience the freedom of living in the wilderness in a cosy tipi. In winter time we will take you to the tipi by snow-mobile.
You will be sleeping on reindeer-skin in polar quality sleeping-bags.

In the middle of the tipi a fire will be burning.

You can hear all the sounds from the forest through the tent wall.

During the winter only the fire, the stars, the moon and the northern lights will light up the dark winter.

During the summer it will be light both day and night and the midnight sun will be shining down on us.

As you can see from the images attached, there is a lot to see and do here in Swedish Lapland. Just talk to your host Sonny and he will help find activities for you, regardless if you are an experienced explorer or a beginner at finding nature adventures.

Welcome!

It was a great unique experience. But don't expect anything fancy : the bareness of the tipi, the smell of the fire and, if you're lucky, the polar cold are pretty tough. But as Sonny and his cooking, it's authentic. The only deception that took us constantly back to civilisation was the noise of the road that is a bit too near...

Sonny's tipi experience is a one of a kind. I do warn anyone interested in this listing in the winter that it can be cold. I would recommend that if you sleep cold to ask for a second sleeping bag. There is a pot belly stove inside but you will need to feed it wood (provided by Sonny) every 1-2 hours. The overall experience was good. Very rustic. You get on a snowmobile for 5minutes you end up in a seemingly nowhere place (but you can still hear a bit of hwy noise). You sleep on deer skin which we couldn't get of our clothes for a week. You will have to make sure to bring your own water, food and rations. The cooking utensils are non existent but hot water on the kettle worked well for us. You cook on an open fire pit outside so we roasted wennies. Sonny is willing enough to drive you in and out of the main town of Arvidsjaur for a fee and provides other listings if you want to stay somewhere warmer. My recommendation is to stay with Jerry in Moskosel if you want a more personable experience. It's a bit tricky to get there so we arrived by night train from Stockholm to Jorn (10-12hr). The train does not go to Moskosel in winter. Then you take a 30-40min bus to the main town of Arvidsjaur (there is a pharmacy, grocery stores, restaurants), but everything seems closed on Sundays. Be prepared. Sonny's place is 20 minutes south of Arvidsajaur and accessible by bus or car. I think the bus only runs twice a day.

We were welcomed at the airport by Sonny free of charge. He is a very interesting man and I enjoyed his stories of the local community. We loved staying in the tipi it was a real experience. Although some snow did come in the top when it snowed. We had enough things to cook with for a few days but maybe we should of brought a few more camping knives and things. I will never forget it, it was my first experience with snow and it is as wild as you can get! Great place!

Sonny was a great host. The location was sublime and a fantastic experience over all. Sonny cooked us a delicious meal by an open fire right on the lakeside. We definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for something different. The northern lights and the loo with a view made it extra special.

That was unforgettable adventure! Tipi tent in the middle of the forest near the frozen lake – quite chilly but magic night. And in the morning we saw some steps of the Elks next to the tipi! We also spend two nights in the modern house in the village. Sonny was great host. He knows a lot about the wild nature. He took us to meet Sami people working with reindeers! That was great experience! Watching hundreds of this beautiful animals in the winter forest was amazing. And a cup of hot coffee and delicious cake he took for us after this trip was a “cherry on the of top of the wedding cake”:) It was a pleasure to meet him. We loved the tipi, the house, the owner and the area. We can't wait to come back there in the summer.
