A former iron forge (blacksmith shop) built in 1791 and converted into a home in the early 1950's. This quaint stone home abuts the South Branch of the Raritan River. Exterior features a patio outside the back door and a large riverside deck for outdoor dining and relaxation. Great room/living/dining room with large fireplace. Kitchen with modern appliances. Each bedroom has a private full bath. Towels and sheets included. Great for entertaining - board games and outdoor ping pong included.
Sitting on the deck along the trout-stocked river is relaxing and peaceful. The home has a "great room" with cathedral ceiling and a very large fireplace with a fully exposed stone wall. The kitchen is modern without detracting from the home's charm. Great attention has been paid to the landscaping as well with many gardens on the property. There is also a large bamboo grove on the 2.5 acres.

Guests have full access to the property. You can use the fireplace as well as the dual propane/charcoal grill which is next to the patio. I do have 2 mountain bikes that can be rented, helmets and water bottles included. My home is one mile from the start of the 15 mile Columbia Trail, a former rail-bed. The home is 15 minutes from the US Equestrian Center in Gladstone, 20 minutes from Waterloo Village in Stanhope and Moorland Farms in Far Hills.

When I have Airbnb guests I am usually staying only 20 minutes away. I am always available to respond to any questions. There is info in my home as to connectivity password, recommendations for restaurants and info on local parks and other attractions.
Interested in sharing the property that I pride myself on remodeling. My hobbies include gardening/landscaping, and this is evident in the photos you will see here. I enjoy all that the area has to offer (biking the rail bed trail), photography (countryside nearby), visiting county parks, etc. My favorite travel destinations are US National Parks.
